I've personally never smoked weed, not because of some moral issue, or fear that I'll end up on an after school special, but it's just not my thang... BUT I have a major problem with the so called legislation of morality. There's no place for it in a so-called free country. Besides do you actually think the 'war on drugs' was ever fought sincerely? Under the table deals, governmental winks and nods, and the fact that it's a choice. People are going to do what they want. My opinion, and that's all it is, is that it should be regulated much like it is in more progressive countries. Anyone who's ever been to Amsterdam (which I have, but didn't eat the brownies) knows that the city doesn't have streets full of anarchy. Besides, does anyone really know why marijuana and cocaine are actually illegal? You'd be surprised if you knew the truth. Hi Beck. Damn... I take that back... Dude... I swear you could pass for Dave Matthews' twin brother! |

oh, to the subject.... I would rather be on the road next to somebody smoking than somebody that was drunk... I don't smoke, but can appreciate the effects... People are pretty funny when their stoned But that doesnt mean they wont drive recklessly or carelessly. true, but most people that smoke that don't feel comfortable are too paranoid to drive... that is my only basis I understand. I just dont agree, and mainly because of first hand experience losing a brother to someone with a careless attitude. BUT I respect that others have their opinions and dont fault anyone for them. I can't say I have been a perfect angel, I have had too many too drink and then decided to drive home.... luckily I didn't hurt anybody... But I DO feel lucky, and finally got smart and haven't put myself into that situation again. No matter what drug you are on, legal or otherwise, I don't beleive it should be done. I have had plenty of friends die over somebody elses ignorance. |

I have, as well. And now I just see it all differently. I feel very grateful to stil be here. (as I raise my drink... at home) |

i think pot should be legal for various reasons and i know why its not legal there is only one reason, and that reason is they cannot figure out how to regulate it and make money off of it because to many people are able to grow it and get away with growing it so it cuts into what the government would be making, as for why it should be legal, it is safe, it has many practical uses, the economy would rise, I WOULD INVEST IN FRITO LAY AND VARIOUS OTHER SNACK FOODS, it is medicinal, and its far better than alcohol i mean i can drive perfectly well stoned as long as i have some double cheeseburgers drinks and twinkies, and last but not least i love being high

i think it should be legal for medical purposes , my son goes through chemo , and the leg pains that people get from it are horrible, .... ive talked to adults that have said the only thing that helps is smoking, kinda makes me wish he was old enough to smoke .

If people properly researched marijuana they would know the positive/negative effects...however not many do so, and your left with an argument over what was taught 30 years ago against what has been learned in this day and age. That is the problem, we have a decade of people who "know" that marijuana is a gateway drug, and a professional standpoint that states that it is NOT a gateway drug. Welcome to the ethics of the drugwar.
