And I'm not talking greenday or blink 182. I'm talking real punk rock, from the late 70's and 80's. Ramones, Johnny Thunders, Iggy Pop. I love it. Anyone else?
I also like bands like Blanks 77, Blitz, The casulaties, grimple, filth. |

That's cool. I have alot of friends into some of those bands, although I must say that I have never heard any of them. |

BTW I have been listening to punk rock since I was 13 years old. I should know the difference between "hard rock" and "punk rock".

Eh, kinda always liked bands that danced on that line. One person's "punk" mgiht be another person's "hard rock', regardless, most would consider it "noisy". My faves have always been the Replacements, Husker Du, Minutemen, Dinosaur jr., Superchunk, and Buffalo Tom, with a little Ramones, Nomeansno, Dead Milkmen, and They Might Be Giants thrown in. Don't laugh too hard at the last one, one of the rowdiest mosh pits I've ever been in was TMBG. Of course in the '90s Cleveland crowds would mosh at a Raffi concert.

Punk is punk, it will never be hard rock. But I will say that yes it is noisy. |

I guess I've never been one to compartmentallize music. The self-assembled CD I'm listening to goes from Pearl Jam to Johnny Cash (with Nick Cave) to Sonic Youth to Frankie Yankovic. I like to rock out as much as the next person, but I get bored with the same type of music after a while. Even at my most "rockin'" part of my life, I would temper the hard stuff with a little Tori Amos. Balance...
