Actually have a friend(big metallica head),But he thinks that Offspring, greenday, blink are real punk music.Tried gettin him to listen to the pistols but refuses to acknowledge that they are real punk music.Which is a real killer as we are in the middle of puttin together a cover of god save the queen and it kinda kills it when u can't get the singer to get into the song.Looks bad when me and the bass player are hoppin around and he's just prayin for the song to be over

Luckily I was able to see the ramones in 1996. I think there is only one surviving member left. From the original band just Tommy CJ and Marky still around too |

I listen to 70/80's Ozzy-Pink Floyd............... But 'Filth an Grimple'........... They are hard rock! Not hard rock. Hard rock is bands like metallica these days. I believe bands like metallica are considered "Metal" bands.. or "Heavy Metal" whichever, I've heard it termed both ways. Is there really such a thing as "Hard" rock? |

yall are on crack..mainstream punk is an oxymoron. Its underground rage music for those who hate everything But the "mainstream" moves so often.1 minute it's pop, then rock, dance, country, rap, punk, metal.Who's to say whats what. And lets face it most of thes underground bands ain't gonna turn down the type of money the rcord companies offer them.If you can make a living outta somethin you love doin then why not.I say good luck to em for being good enough at what they do to get noticed in the first place |

Punk rock's roots reach back (IMO) to the Kinks, and maybe even Link Wray. The Kinks just seemed that much more "street" than the other big boys at the time.
