Why is there enough religion to incite war, but not enough religion to instill tolerance?

Religions don't incite wars, people do. There are tons of churches that preach tolerance, you just don't hear about them much from the media;^]

True that, as Mike Muir said in the song "Discos Out Murders In", "another show that needs to be rated, just gotta add a little bit more hatred";^]

then the Crusades wasnt for Religion?

The crusades were for land, power & control over limited resources. Not to mention bitterness towards the Muslims for taking the land. Again, religion was the excuse but not the root;^]

All wars boil down to land, power & control over limited resources, religion is used as an excuse & to focus on religion is to miss the cause and sollution. Wars have always been fought with and without religion, war is war & the root is land, power & control over resources;^]

Then why do they say "In the Name of God We fight on this day"
or "In the name Of God we take this land from these mindless Savages."?

I know I enlisted to serve my country, it comes down to what kind of a person or persons is barking them off

As I said, because it's the excuse they use to justify their actions. The key phrase you posted was "take this land";^]

I remember back in staunton cc, there was a wiccan who stabbed another inmate for insulting the wiccan tradition. Of course the media blamed wicca, but we all know the blame rests on the shoulders of the man who commited these actions and not on wicca itself;^]

do ya know what the first crusade was about?

Yes, 2/3's of Christendom had been taken by Muslims. They controlled the Middle East, Eastern Europe and were busy trying to take Western Europe. When Alexius I asked for help from Pope Urban, the Pope encouraged people to aid Alexius I in his war against the Turks. Some belief that Pope Urban was also seeking to reunify the Church, but it is clear that at least one goal of the crusade was to stop Muslim conquest.

Because they are too ashamed of what they are doing to take responsibility for it themselves.

The religions that are based on Mediterranean folklore tend to be egotistical religions. They all hold that God is an egotistical dictator who is very jealous and gets really peeved when he doesn’t get his way. His whole regime is based on agreeing with him and doing precisely as he says. The basic premise is "Thou shalt have no other God's before me!"

That whole mindset then causes believers in these kinds of religions to view anyone who doesn’t go along with them to be ‘enemies of God’.

Isn’t it extremely ironical that all of the middle-eastern religions are based on the same folklore??? The same God! Yet, they all disagree on what that God expects from humans?

I think the pantheists in this world actually view Christianity, Islam, and Judaism as nothing more than one huge religion that hates itself.

Christianity is a religion in particular that sparks a mindset of war mongering. They constantly proselytize that you are either on Jesus’ side or you work for Satan. They make it into a war by forcing people to take sides. Either agree with us, or you are our enemy and the enemy of our God!

That’s a really sick perverted use of spirituality doncha think?

because religion is about what will supposely happen to you forever and this can easily breed hate when someone disagree or question the belief and that is why as soon as one person tell of their religion to another they at that point in time have in fact disrepected that person their God their belief their eternal salvation and this explains why religion is constructed of an army of intolerance of those ready to die and kill in the name of

The first crusade was in 1095, 35 years before Pope Innocent II became Pope. The first crusade was to save Christendom from Islamic invaders who were set on conquest.

I would be interested to learn where you get your information from. The Druids were wiped out in 60 AD by Pagan Romans, because of their supposed practice of human sacrifice. Since the druids kept no records and were wiped out almost 1900 years ago, the fact that anyone claims to know what Druids believed is absurd. Besides, I can't imagine anyone who was a "druid" calling themself a "druid", since druid means "tree fu*ker" and was an insult created by the Romans.

Wow, that could explain a few phrases I've wondered about....
