Topic: Whatever Happened To... | |

Whatever happened to Teddy Roosevelt republicans? Seems to me they've only gone downhill since Taft took office, though Reagan was good at taking credit for other peoples work. But where are the TR republicans of today? I wonder, if TR ran today would be accused of being a "bleeding heart" liberal?;^]

??????????????????????????i dont do politics???????????????????? A few TR facts. Pro union Introduced the minimum wage Waged war with corperations in politics First man to invite a black man for dinner at the white house;^] Pro union, good. Minimum wage is just that minimum, a starting point, once it gets to 10 an hour, everyone else will have to make 25 an hour just to pay for basic services. Corporations run the government, whether we like it or not. Every politician in every political party are bought and paid for. First man to invite a black man for dinner at the white house, but we're probably 50 years from a black man as president. |

They're mostly in the libertarian party these days and a minority in that party to boot.
Of course being 'liberal' used to be a good thing too. |

Yes, most politicians are slimy crooks but not all. As for another 50 years, I think Obama stands a pretty good chance. If he gets the nomination the republicans don't stand a chance;^] |

If he gets the nomination the republicans don't stand a chance;^] Exactly, they weren't bought and paid for, and where are they now? And I think Obama won't get the nomination, Hillary will, and then I don't think a majority of americans want a female president yet either. But if Obama does get the nod, life is gonna be interesting. |

Well the press covers Ron Paul, and he's pretty much talking to himself anyway. |

The media is a differant story and a differant blame, but where would universal health care be if Kucinich hadn't have pushed the issue for all these years? Now it's one of the top issues;^] |
