Is the present better than the past, do you think the future will be better than the present?

What are your thoughts?

Although technology will advance in the future, if we don't annihilate ourselves with war or some other man made catastrophe, things don't really change much over the millenniums.

Thanks everyone for all the comments.

In general here in the UK. I believe things are better for most people today than they were in their parents day, life has gotten better, but I am not so sure that children today will enjoy something better in the future. The computer age resulted in job losses, but the advancements in technology particularly AI will see even a far greater number of job losses. Examples, we are to see trials of 'Driverless' buses and taxis introduced on to UK roads early next year. What will replace all those jobs lost? Will the rail and aircraft industries follow in loosing drivers and pilots, will the marine industry build fully autonomous ships which sail with no crews. Many other jobs will be lost in all sorts of industries, affected in different ways. I don't think Jeff Bezos CEO of Amazon need worry, but what are most of the rest of the population going to do, even jobs filling local supermarket shelves is probably at risk, it's not looking good right now in my opinion.

There will always be jobs and Rich men and women in the USA. Many people can get assistance when Poor and that is not offered in some other impoverished countries. We are a Blessed Nation.

Im not too interested in what Politicians say they always are fighting over something. They do not rule the USA.

I have family and friends in many parts of the USA.
Also in few in the UK.

Many Countires have been having problems for Decades.
People always have something to be Concerned about in their OWN Places of Living!!
