You have to understand that you're an individual and not property. Also, friends would never hurt each other, so why do non friends do it (i.e Marriage)

There are many reasons why marriages fail, treating a spouse as if you owned them is probably one of the reasons, sadly some people do become very controlling in marriage and it never ends well in my opinion.

Marriage is a partnership between man and a woman, no one person is a Boss and they should have mutual respect for each other. Marriages often end for many different reasons but finances is one of the Major issues. People do not know how to manage money when they have some.
