Topic: Trump's On-Again/Off-Again Tariffs | |
---|---|
It looks as if Trumps tariffs increases have had a positive effect on American businesses and productivity. Many company’s are returning to US because they see the impact that Trumps America first has had. And they want to be part of the MAGA agenda.. all these things are greatly needed for the US to prosper and we are on that track now. Keep up the good work president Trump. Got any examples that weren't already going to happen because of Biden's CHIPS or Inflation Reduction Acts? it seems that the dems are so incompetent at everything they try to do. Pitiful policies that drag america backwards , they put Americans behind illegal immigrants and criminals, they support judges that help criminals to evade law enforcement from arresting them. I hope they make a example out of the judge that blocked ICE agents from doing their job of protecting the public by arresting a wanted criminal. Lock her up. |

I don't have a lot of sympathy for ICE agents who can't bother to get a signed warrant before barging into courthouses to arrest people. It's called "due process" and is the core aspect of our government that keeps us from tyranny. |

So you don’t support our law enforcement but you support corrupt judges that harbor or enable convicted criminals to escape capture. Sound like a typical liberal democrat. I hope your side keeps that same ideaology throughout the next election. |

I'm fine with law enforcement doing their jobs, but barging into courthouses with the wrong warrant just makes a mess, and ICE make lots of mistakes every day. I guess that's what you get when you discard DEI and just bring in "good ol' boys." |

I can’t wait to see the reaction from the left after the Secret Service drag James Comey in for interrogation about post threats against Trump his instagram or whatever. He posted 86 47, and said he didn’t know what the 86 meant. What a POS this guy is.. |

Trump tells Walmart to ‘eat the tariffs’ after retailer warned it will raise prices
www.cnbc.com/2025/05/17/trump-tells-walmart-to-eat-the-tariffs.html * Trump blasted Walmart after the retailer warned it will raise prices due to tariffs. * The company is the latest to warn consumers could face higher prices because of Trump’s new duties on imports. * Walmart’s CFO says the company is pleased with the progress in trade talks but that duties are “still too high.” Trump griped that Walmart should not pass costs to customers (and apparently ignore their shareholders): “Walmart should STOP trying to blame Tariffs as the reason for raising prices throughout the chain,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Between Walmart and China they should, as is said, “EAT THE TARIFFS,” and not charge valued customers ANYTHING. “I’ll be watching, and so will your customers!!!”

Add this to the ‘ because it’s Trump’ rant and rage.. when Biden was president, the high prices were because of price gouging according to the dems. But now that Trump is trying and succeeding at bringing jobs back to America that you feel sorry for the stock holders now that want to raise prices.. |

It’s the tariffs that are going to cause the price increases at Walmart. The tariffs that Trump imposed. Absolutely no other reason And the tariffs have to remain in place consistently in order to make it worthwhile to ‘bring back manufacturing’ to the US.
Don't forget, it wasn’t the government that sent those manufacturing jobs to other countries. It was the companies that outsourced it to the lower costs of their products so they could make more money. It takes time, like yrs to build new manufacturing facilities. And it take raw materials too, the plan being that somehow we will have those available domestically as well. Tariffs that are imposed this wk. only to be used as bargain chips next wk, or next month or even 6 months from now are not solid reasons to invest in new manufacturing here in the US. By the time the plan is made and financing is secured, the tariffs could well be changed or even gone. Who wants to invest huge when it’s too unstable? No one. |

Add your comment to the pile of evidence of your Trump Derangement. Trump admits that businesses will have to "eat the tariffs" in order for their customers to not pay more. How do you, as an adult, miss that tariffs are a tax paid by the buyer? |

How do you, as an adult, miss that tariffs are a tax paid by the buyer? I’m not missing the fact that some prices will be higher. But I understand that unless something is done now to make America more self reliant and prosperous, like we use to be. we will suffer greater problems to our whole country other than temporary higher prices unless we bring factories back home. And they are coming back. Trumps plan for America is working beyond belief. We can not sustain the way Biden and the dems ran this country. How do you as a American support the disastrous policies put forth by the dems. Trumps idea of America is what the majority of Americans want and the ones pushing back against him are so out of touch with the rest of our country.. |

Caterpillar Says Tariffs May Increase Q2 Costs by Up to $350 Million www.manufacturing.net/operations/news/22939903/caterpillar-says-tariffs-may-increase-q2-costs-by-up-to-350-million In the first quarter, Caterpillar's revenue dropped to $14.25 billion from $15.8 billion a year earlier. The performance fell short of the $14.54 billion that analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research were expecting.
Trump's plan isn't working. He wrecking the US auto manufacturing industry. Sure, semiconductor jobs are coming back to the US, but that has been happening since Biden's CHIPS Act. I know there have been a few other announcements, but nothing binding. Tariffs on steel and aluminum are killing regular manufacturing, and makes heavy manufacturing prohibitively expensive. Caterpillar and the major automakers will have to move production offshore, now. Trump really is an imbecile. |

Wells Fargo warns Trump’s tariffs won’t bring back American manufacturing jobs, which will need a minimum $2.9 trillion investment to regain peak
news.yahoo.com/news/finance/news/wells-fargo-warns-trump-tariffs-174751930.html As President Donald Trump continues to push tariffs as a strategy to bolster U.S. manufacturing, economists aren’t convinced his steep levies will have their intended economic effect.
The imbecile, Donald Trump, is at it again, after crowing about all sorts of deals, that were never actually made, now promises more and more tariffs on our European allies, sowing new animosity toward the US because he doesn't know or care how tariffs actually work. Maybe we won't get all the benefits promised in that "Big Beautiful Bill" but at least our new phones will cost $hundreds more. Who here is already tired of winning? |

Most People understand that it will take awhile to fix the problems left behind by a group of ignorant disconnected unscrupulous politicians that worked hard at destroying this country for four years. But the democrats have a plan to regain the young folks that went for Trump. They are spending 20 million dollars to learn how to relate to people.. Lol , that is reason enough to reject that group from now on. |
