I don't have a lot of sympathy for ICE agents who can't bother to get a signed warrant before barging into courthouses to arrest people. It's called "due process" and is the core aspect of our government that keeps us from tyranny.

It’s the tariffs that are going to cause the price increases at Walmart. The tariffs that Trump imposed. Absolutely no other reason And the tariffs have to remain in place consistently in order to make it worthwhile to ‘bring back manufacturing’ to the US.
Don't forget, it wasn’t the government that sent those manufacturing jobs to other countries. It was the companies that outsourced it to the lower costs of their products so they could make more money. It takes time, like yrs to build new manufacturing facilities. And it take raw materials too, the plan being that somehow we will have those available domestically as well. Tariffs that are imposed this wk. only to be used as bargain chips next wk, or next month or even 6 months from now are not solid reasons to invest in new manufacturing here in the US.
By the time the plan is made and financing is secured, the tariffs could well be changed or even gone. Who wants to invest huge when it’s too unstable? No one.

I’m not missing the fact that some prices will be higher. But I understand that unless something is done now to make America more self reliant and prosperous, like we use to be. we will suffer greater problems to our whole country other than temporary higher prices unless we bring factories back home. And they are coming back. Trumps plan for America is working beyond belief. We can not sustain the way Biden and the dems ran this country. Trump's plan isn't working. He wrecking the US auto manufacturing industry. Sure, semiconductor jobs are coming back to the US, but that has been happening since Biden's CHIPS Act. I know there have been a few other announcements, but nothing binding. Tariffs on steel and aluminum are killing regular manufacturing, and makes heavy manufacturing prohibitively expensive. The imbecile, Donald Trump, is at it again, after crowing about all sorts of deals, that were never actually made, now promises more and more tariffs on our European allies, sowing new animosity toward the US because he doesn't know or care how tariffs actually work. Maybe we won't get all the benefits promised in that "Big Beautiful Bill" but at least our new phones will cost $hundreds more. Who here is already tired of winning?
