great, so we're blessed because he's not as bad as saddam.
he and his cronies are ****ing our nation, just how things are. and before you defend him again, tell me homeland security and the patriot act are solely for our good |

Homeland Security and the Patriot Act... Hmm. That's a whole can of worms. Democrats and Republicans BOTH voted for that one. They have their good and bad points. I think they both can be abused if not watched. I work for the Rail Road and we now have to have Homeland Security badges. It's a good thing in my profession. Chemical Plants, Refineries, Rail Roads, Aviation and Shipping are active targets. If only they had these checks in Aviation before 911... Since Democrats AND Republicans both voted for it, are you under the assumption everyone is trying to **** everyone else? Welcome to the world of politics.

which only validates my recent point. the system is ****ed and to say it's a simple representitive republic is damn ignorant

I still retain that its time to exit yes the "surge" has brought a tempoary stability to Iraq but as we all know it can not be maintained for much longer and thier goverment has not done much to bring about political stability and without that troop presence is only a temporary fix. And yes we still have freedom, but the patriot act has curtailed much of it. Also lets not forget the trade towers were attacked twice and even without the patriot act it took them many years to hit them again. The presenet admistration would have us think that they work much like the show "24". Reality just doesn't work that way, besides Jack Bauwer is in jail right now!

Yeah, Hollywood can't even touch the reality of what our government is putting up with.

no my point was this admistration runs on fear. the fear they can generate within the country and worldwide. And some people seem to be buying into to it. Who can forget the "mission accomplished" banner when the mission was far far far from over!

Yes. I agree wholeheartedly that people are buying into the fear factor. Of course most people get their info from TV and dumbasses around them talking. I wish people would spend more time on a little research. All these idiots that post their opinion over the internet never take the time to use that same computer for any kind of research

no my point was this admistration runs on fear. the fear they can generate within the country and worldwide. And some people seem to be buying into to it. Who can forget the "mission accomplished" banner when the mission was far far far from over! I am really getting sick of people saying that the administration is using fear tactics to use the populace as sheep and then they go on to say how the administration is taking away all our rights, we are about to be sent to prison camps, and we are being watched always by big brother. Wouldn't you call that fear tactics? Any conspiratorial stuff going on by those who are anti-Bush administration is far worse scare tactics than saying there are terrorists and enemies of the US that wish to kill us all. The reality is there has been terrorist attacks and there are people who wish to committ further terrorist attacks. Also, we have sovereign nations that are enemies of this country. By the way, the mission was accomplished when that sign was draped across the aircraft carrier. However, they should have known the media was going to jump all over this. Bush said Mission Accomplish, end of MAJOR MILITARY OPERATIONS. And, in that he was correct. You can spin the whole thing as much as you want, but ESSENTIALLY he was correct. Speech writers and White House officials were probably highly criticized if not fired for such stupidity that was done with that whole fiasco. |

so are you arguing that we haven't lost rights?

so are you arguing that we haven't lost rights? Show me your evidence that we have. No prison camps, no US citizen held without habeus corpus, no US phone lines have been illegally tapped (tapped communiation between a US and a non-US entity is not illegal), Muslims have not been rounded up, people are still free to assemble so much so they are allowed to disrupt Congressional hearings and get a slap on the wrist. We have not been limited the rights to bear arms since 9/11. Freedom of the press is greater than ever. |

i'm running on dial up, so i'm not pursuing this with nearly as much determination as i should
http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/us/2005/12/17/bush.radio.short.cnn could be wrong because i lack the patience, but that should be what i'm looking for. also, you haven't heard of the mass abuses by fbi? their fraudulant paper work on warrants and wire taps? it's whatever man, i think you're too far gone |

Ummm, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out who Your president has in his pocket.... just read back through his life and contacts...just have a look at the 'friendship' between the CEO of the World Bank, and your president.
You don't even have to be American to spot a deranged despot ruling your country...it sticks out like dog's balls. Perhaps a little stepping outside of the narrow view, would show the reality of what this Governing Body has done to your economy, and then we will talk. |

Actually we have lost some rights. When ABC news brought in some depleted urainium about a year ago(think it was a year ago) they were raided by homelands security and everything they did was legal. They just wanted to find out how security had improved.
Now as far as other subject secret torture or near torture prison camps in other countries. Something i never thought i would see this country do as a child. They are a reality now. Its not that I think these terror suspect actualy deserve any mercy, they don't! But we need to be better then what we are fighting against otherwise what exactly are we fighting for?? its amazing with one attack they did an incredible amount of damage. But whats really both truly sad an amazing is the amount of damagew we have done to ourselfs in the name of freedom wich is slowly being striped away, not by a foreign power; terorist; or other agents but the freedom we have given up to make us "safe" |
|
|
|
Its a royal mess and you can only thank George Bush and his neocon thugs. they try to wrap themselves in a flag and hold a bible and claim they are patriots, they have damaged this country at home and abroud far more than any terrorist ever could. All the while the haliburtons and oil giants are takeing in record profits..........yea mission accomplished George all your corperate rat favorites are rapeing our treasury

"General: Anbar Ready for Handover"
By ROBERT BURNS AP Military Writer "Thus far, nine of 18 Iraqi provinces have reverted to Iraqi control, most recently the southern province of Basra in December. The process has gone substantially slower than the Bush administration once hoped, mainly because of obstacles to developing sufficient Iraqi police and army forces. But Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Thursday that he expects the process to continue." - http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D8U3B17O0&show_article=1 NINE out of Eighteen provinces in sole control of the Iraqi security forces and the Constitutional democratic government of Iraq. Economy and stability on the rise as violence declines significantly. Economy on the rise, millions returning to Iraq after having fled. Congressmen returning and changing their tunes about Iraq. Streets full of Iraqi people at markets and schools full of children. And, what do we get as a result in the US media? Extremely less news from Iraq with good stuff sometimes found on page 14 of then newspapers. So very interesting. |
