I've started watching GoT.
I never got beyond 3 seasons approx. and then gave up on it as I lost track of all the realms and people because of the huge gaps between seasons. Totally confused about who was who and from where, what they were doing etc. By the time I was sort of back on track the season had ended again so it was pointless watching it. But now that the whole thing has finished I can continue watching, and I had nothing else to watch anymore so I figured I'd give it a whirl. So far I'm enjoying it and everything's still clear. If I continue to like it I may go for the new series too, the prequel. |

Mark had not seen GoT so we spent this past June and July watching it together. It's really good and can be very addicting. We haven't started House of the Dragon yet because we prefer to binge watch things, and at this point there are only a couple episodes. I'm downloading the episodes and saving them for when we have enough to binge watch. Let me know (when you finish) what you think about the final season of GoT.

I will :) If I make it that far. I hope they don't mess things up throughout the seasons, which often happens with series.
Currently in season 2 and still enjoying it. I got confused once when suddenly this red witch appeared, played by the Dutch Carice van Houten, with Stannis Baratheon. That's what confused me when watching first time as well. There was no explanation, introduction, they hadn't even been shown before. Just the name "Stannis" that had been mentioned a few times. That's how I got lost first time round and this time too I had to think who they hell they were. I still feel that particular part is badly done. No explanation, suddenly they show you these people and a ritual on the beach. Totally out of the blue. Where are they, how did they get there, and who is she? How on Earth did she end up in the story? If memory serves this didn't get clarified at all. Just that you have to deal with this weird woman in red. Also the first time I didn't like Carice van Houten while she is usually a great actress. Maybe I'm fussy, but such things can totally put me off, hihi. In any case, I hope it remains enjoyable! |

What I do not understand, and maybe someone can explain...
These Wildlings climb over the wall to get away from the White Walkers. Then when the White Walkers attack the wall the Wildlings attack it at the same time from the other safe(r) side. What the hell for? First they themselves run from the White Walkers to then kill the only ones that stand between them and those White Walkers? Since they ran from them themselves they'd be better off helping the Night Watch men to fight them off? It doesn't make any sense. Have I missed something here? |

Keep watching It indeed became clear not much later. I am, however, growing bored with it. In season 5 now. |

Quite possibly the worst compulsion I've ever experienced, binging GoT.
I could not stop, I suspect you'll like it too. I have Bonnie to thank for turning me on to it.... I even made her watch it while we were on our cruise this Summer. |

I even made her watch it while we were on our cruise this Summer. I never got past season 5 first time round, when it came out, and now having the same problem. In season 5, getting fed up with it. Too much drama and utter nonsense and illogical reactions & thinking of people. In other words: they're all turning into morons. You see that sort of thing happen with most series after a few seasons. Seems writers can't keep up with a high and lose touch with the story & characters at some point. I switched it off and went for a movie. Maybe I'll pick it up later, maybe not. |

I went back to watching GoT after a break with a few movies.
I'm halfway through season 6 and lo' and behold, it has picked up again! Now it's getting interesting :) Oh, what I do not like, and is beginning to irritate me more and more, is the excessive use of violence, slaughter, rape, maiming, and the increasing religious bollocks. Unfortunately both are part of our real history, but I don't enjoy that part. It rattles my cage, not sure which one I find worse. Possibly both in equal measure since I am incredibly allergic to (any) religion but also detest mindless violence. |

About to start the last season, and it got really good. I am enjoying it now.
But still things I don't understand. The thing with Arya and the faces is beyond me. Also, when they convince Cersei of the dire situation with the army of the dead by bringing one of these dead creeps, she still thinks she has them in a stronghold, enough to come up with an ultimatum. For one, I don't get the problem with the ultimatum. I didn't think Jon was after the south & Lannisters, not really. Then, how can Cersei have them in a stronghold by saying, you will get them up north first? Sure that is true, but I'd then abandon the northern regions and move everyone and everything south. Then everyone, including Cersei, will have to deal with the army of the dead at the same time. Or, better maybe even, leave that island altogether and go back across the Narrow Sea to where Daenerys came from. Plenty of space to live there. Leave Cersei to her own devices with the army of the dead. None of Cersei's demands and them feeling they're f(ked makes sense. But maybe that's just me. |

nno clue. is this a brit box or euro show??? Nope, Game of Thrones is an American fantasy drama series. It originally aired on HBO. Yeah, Americans paid for it (HBO) but it only had one US actor: Peter Dinklage. All the rest of the cast is (mostly) British or otherwise European. The story is also loosely based on UK's history. Not unlike Diana Gabaldon (American) writing "Outlander" series and having the tv series based on her books. All in all it's a bit odd to not know it, or at least have heard of it, because of this: Game of Thrones became the most in-demand series in over 100 countries around the world. It was even popular in Asia. @DM can it be watched where you are? I'm not up to speed anymore with where the common people have telly or not. |
