Until you've experienced it, you'll never know.
Hopefully, you won't have to. |

The people who were in the protest were from many different groups, causing problems for everyone, and getting funding from foreign countries. I was harassed by some of the protesters to "take off your F---ing mask, because covid is not real", . There are many people who were harassed, and assaulted, by protesters that have absolutely no connection to the truckers protest, there were even truckers who realized that, and wanted to leave but were trapped, because the other truckers would not let them out. To protest is allowed in Canada, but when it directly affects the local people who live in the area, and those people have to get a court ruling for the truckers to stop blowing their horns, shooting off fireworks and continuously performing acts of harassment and assault, then the protest needed to be stopped. The best way to protest is by voting, not by holding the rest of the population hostage, until the protesters get what they want. The police forces removed the protesters in the best way possible, without any serious harm, or shootings, regardless of the way that the American media reported how events took place. I'm glad to live in a country that is actually peaceful, without all of the guns. I would argue that guns possessed by the private citizens is what keeps us free. It’s hard to protect your rights and freedoms if you have nothing to fight with. Our 2nd amendment is a deterrent to keep government in check . The governments sole purpose is to serve and protect its citizens. To many politicians forget that and think it’s the other way around. We can remind them at election time |

Not being limited to only two political parties to choose from is what gives us freedom, and peace, without the need to kill each other.
Having such a limited voting choice, in my opinion is closer to communism. Our politicians, are fully aware who they work for, because they are forced to work together, in order to remain, or they will be voted out. In fact the law which came into act to remove the illegal protesters was supported by different political parties. Guns are simply not needed here, however there are needs for them by officials. When people experience actual freedom, they just don't want to fight with others, which means protecting rights and freedoms, are done by voters. And of course the British are not coming. |

We can remind them at election time Tell that to the people who get shot, and often killed, every day in the US. Nothing to do with the government and many live in fear for their lives every day because of the haphazard way guns have become available. I own a gun, but it’s locked away and used at a range or personal protection in my home. But, in many cases its out of control because of the fall back on the 2nd amendment, which is NOT the reason most have one. Prove me wrong. And I just watched a video of an entire town in Ukraine coming out and blocking a Russian tank. Not a gun in sight. Stupid? Brave? however you see it, that was what freedom looks like. |

It pleases me to learn that you are a responsible gun owner. One of your reasons is say you use it for protection of your home - a very reasonable explanation. The 2nd amendment is for protection of ALL of your property - including liberty.
Stupid or brave? I find it foolish. The truckers were also unarmed at the protest. The outcome didn't look like freedom to me |

I cannot relate as to why people where you live have a need to own a gun, it seems that everyone owns guns, because of fear that someone else owns guns.
Don't get me wrong, my grandfather was in the military special forces, as was my father too, but those were times of war and combat, so they had knowledge and experiences from those times, but neither had a continued desire or need for guns later in life, it is just not that type of culture in Canada. |

The president of Ukraine started distributing guns to the citizens, because of the need at that time.

We could go back and forth on this for hours on end. But, if you can’t see how gun violence is affecting freedom in this country, while having little to nothing to do with protecting property or tyranny against government, there’s no hope this will ever change.

Really, the only reason russia hasn’t entered Kyiv Is because of the citizens having guns. If you can’t see where guns can protect a person from harm from others than why do you have one.But you got to have the balls to use it. If we remove our second amendment then we are at the mercy of a invading country or a tyrannical government at sometime. More and more folks are arming themselves and that is a Good thing. |

We have enough gun laws in place to keep the wrong people from getting one, legally. But dealing on the street can not be governed. If our courts would apply the laws that are in place as it should be applied than that would stop a lot of criminals from owning one. But to many liberal DAs and mayors want to politicize the law to balance racial equity. |

What are you guys talking about? To declare the right to carry guns is not the same as in reality that they actually got any guns yet! The only people who have guns now are criminals and hunters. In media countries also stand in line to proclaim that they are going to send guns to Ukraine. It's all political acting to look good. And how is it going to be possible to transport guns in the near future? Planes will be shot down, borders are closed and soon all but the border south of Lviv be under Russian control. If Romania agree to have them transited through their territory they will be bombed to.
I can also imply that I will send ray guns to Ukraine but it's just not possible. If the west don't back down Russia will nuke city's there in the near future for sure. And nothing of this will help the Ukrainian people, only make them suffer more because och financial and political greed! Americans need to go out on the streets and protest against Biden and his involvement in this. |

If "gun control" laws worked Mexico would be a pretty safe country. Mexico has extremely restrictive laws regarding gun possession. There is only one gun store in the entire country, and it takes months of paperwork to have a chance at purchasing one legally. A total of 34,582 cases of homicide occurred in Mexico in 2019, up from 33,369 the year before. In 2020 there were 34,515 homicides. The population in Mexico in 2020 was 128,932,753. In 2020, there were 21,570 reported cases of murder or non-negligent manslaughter in the United States. The population of U.S. in 2020 was 331,002,651. Numbers don't lie......and from data it's obvious that restrictive laws doesn't stop murders in Mexico or the US cities with the most restrictive laws. Criminals commit crimes, whether it's car jacking, theft or murders because they IGNORE laws. |

They are desperate people both in USA and Mexico. The situation in both those countries are not good.
As a young adult I admired USA because I was fed a lot of crap through television from Hollywood. After living 4 Years in Miami 1987-1992 I got to see a lot of the dark side of USA and Latin American immigrants. I understand that Miami was flooded with Cubans through the Mariel boat lift but that was not the only problem. I can go on and on with examples. Of course I met many nice people to but they were the fortunate ones. My biggest surprise was the intense racism from black people against foreign black people, like Haitians and Africans who generally worked pretty hard. My self I got along well with black Americans since I had an accent they didn't consider me a cracker. And others as well. To arm a lot of people is not a good idea. Trust me! We never had guns in Sweden, but after the migrant crisis 2015 there is constant bombing and shootings in poor neighborhoods with smuggled Yugoslavian guns and explosives. Now we will see yet another influx of guns from Ukraine and Russian conflict. It's so much harder to inflict bodily harm with a ball point pen then a gun! Ban all guns is better. |
