Topic: quality or quantity? | |
---|---|
Hey, this is just a curious question with no right or wrong answer. What preference do you have? Do you choose to date making many connections or decide to make a quality connection with one person to see where it goes and use your energy and time with that person?
I choose quality. I tried quantity, but it does not fit my standards, values, and energy, looking for many connections. I want to focus on a forward-moving healthy relationship that is quality. Opening yourself up and being vulnerable is a private and personal thing I value to only share with a special worth my time person. |

I'm pretty much a curmudgeon when it comes to dating. I've got no patience for shenanigans or for these lame emails that I've been receiving. I'm the get-off-my-lawn guy...but for dating.
So to answer your questions, I choose quality over quantity. |

There is something to say to not put all your eggs in one basket until one connection proves to have more depth and future.
If you don't you can waste a lot of time on one guy and discover it's never going to lead anywhere after all. Then you did get emotionally attached and spent months, maybe years, of your life on that person. Personally I can't date plural men. Doesn't work for me, partly because I don't like dating as it is. Now if I had liked it I may have gone for plural until one connection showed real promise. Simply put, the smart thing is to date plural men with the intent of finding the one that does have a real interest in you and wants to commit and so on. |

I am wondering - does this "quality vs. quantity" thing apply when we are dealing with humans, and more essentially, when someone is looking forward to build a serious relationship? According to me, "quantifying" can lead to objectifying, and "qualifying" to being judgmental! Both of the aforementioned isn't helpful in building up a relation.
Now, getting to the tune of the OP, I'd say that it's a tricky situation. Not always do we meet the right person on our 1st date. If we shut all the avenues, we'll have to either keep dating the wrong person, or go along alone! I guess, wot the OP meant was simultaneously dating multiple (probable) partners. If that's right, then no, it's not my cup of tea! (The above are entirely my opinion) |

I think one needs quantity in order to find quality.

quality is number one ... but its only by dating various , albeit one at a time, can you reach the conclusion , as to which one is really a keeper. Unless you believe in love at first sight.
I happened to come across a profile on here just the other day , and was drawn to the picture right away .... I felt a connection..... but it was not enough to get her to message me .... |
