ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - Benazir Bhutto was killed she would have been the first woman President in the world.

How many believe that Hillary will pull out?

Or She really will be the next President?

I was chatting with someone about this and they think there was no way Pakistan was going to have the first Woman in high ranking office before The Untied States.

Dose any one think the same thing? Just curious

I think it's sad.. Benazir would of been great for them.

I was born in Istanbul, Turkey, currently living in St. Louis, MO. So, I have a little closer perspective on this. My opinion is that right now it is much to early to tell who is responsible. Middle Eastern politics are extremely complex, us in the West probably will not know for months :(

Benazir Bhutto KNEW she was marked and her time was near. I am still stunned she stood up in that motorcade. It cost her. I am disgusted to see such disrespect here at this group regarding her assassination. Everything from interupting "the price is right" to other jabs. I am sad for pakistan and i will just leave it at that.

I am saddened by this news.I just read an article in Time about her and she has done wonderful things for Pakistan.God rest her soul.

I think The Taliban. Bin Laden. It is well documented that they hate women in power of any kind. Women are beneath them.

I have doubts that someone from their own government would have anything to do with it. Backlash would be really bad.

Her death to the Pakistans is being paramount to the death of Kennedy by his assasination.

It is sad. She was an ally to the U.S..

The fact that you all think she would be great for Pakistan is what got her killed!

Obvious suspects are:
1) General Musharraf - He benefits because weeks after stepping down to civilian authority and weeks away from election there is chaos in the country. He will be the strong civilian leader fighting terrorism and only pro west candidate left after death of Bhutto.

2) Islamists/AlQueda - She is a woman who is trying to lead a muslim country or she is pro west.

One thing for sure is that we will never know who killed her. Personally I think there is a proxy war going on in that country for control of the nukes.

If it is "AlQueeeeda" who killed her it is because she was pro west and corrupt (These two facts usually go together in that part of the world). However Musharraf is also pro west and corrupt and if they had the power to get Bhutto they could have got Musharraf a long time ago. Remember the Mosque raid stunt that he pulled a few moths back, I bet he is hated more than she ever was but never a scratch on the man!

Watch Mushrraf how he handles the current crisis and wins easily the upcoming election... that will be a hint on who is the real culprit...

The Russians seemingly have the info again as usual with their first class spy system. There is an article on whatdoesitmean.com that discusses the event. It looks like maybe no less than 3 groups of sharpshooters firing at least 6 shots, and most likely involve the special forces of Pakistan, and then covered up by rocket grenades to make it look like suicide bombers. So the govt of Pakistan is likely behind the shooting.

Benazir Bhutto was very anti-Taliban and wanted the government to clean up the Peshawar region.

I doubt very much Mushariff had anything to do with it because he knows our intel would find out, also the last thing he needs is for his people to have a martyr to inflame an already precarious situation.

Al quida and Taliban already made several attempts on her life...I think unfortunately...they succeeded this time
