International Women's Day is observed across the world on March 8. It is a global day that celebrates social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a "call to action" to increase gender equality. The colour of this day is purple. Purple is the colour of loyalty, constancy to purpose, unswerving steadfastness to a cause. It's also the colour of dignity and self-respect and signifies bipartisanship.
