Mommy - hang in there. If you want to talk you can e-mail me, I am on every night. I wish I could help. Is there someone you can talk to, a counselor, minister, etc.?? Sometimes is helpful just to talk it out with someone else. I hope things calm down soon for you.
Roy - twitterpated, how fun, hope it gets better soon and your dryer gets fixed. Good luck. Amber - don't let him bully you into anything you don't want. That is how they get what they want, manipulation. You are strong and you can handle a lot, you have proven that in all you have accomplished already. Ask for help from your church pastor or domestic violence or the police if he threatens you. You are too important to let him ruin your life again. Take care of yourself. Jax - hope things are going well for you. You always have good advice for folks on here. Jeff - you need to take the first step to achieving what you want. I told you before about volunteering or going to groups to meet people, getting yourself out there. Go to church, there are women there and you can even get counseling from the church pastors for free. But you have to step outside your safety net and make the first move. It is hard, change is always hard. But how do you know that the woman you are looking for isn't out there in a church or in some group or at some agency you may volunteer at. Just my thoughts. Hope everyone has a great day. |

I think that is excellent advice you gave to Jeff, Marie. I get hugs everyday. Sure they are my mother's and grandmother's ages but guess what they have daughters and some of their daughters have daughters. One has to make oneself stick out and be available. Hmmm, maybe I will get a cap with that on it; "I'm available". Oh, well just a thought.
An older nurse's daughter made some excellent apple pie last night. The nurse offered me a piece and you should of seen them come out of the woodwork. The nurse's daughter is a great cook and is getting quite a reputation with the locals at the nursing home staff. I thought I was going to have to knock a couple of aides away from my piece of pie. Just kidding. |

I saw my councelor this afternoon, she really didn't say much, just listen to me talk about all that has been goin on the last couple of weeks. She did tell me tho, NOW is not a good time to try and 'fix' the world, lol.. I have not been tryin' to, just to 'fix' myself. She told me to talk to my shrink about why the seroquel is not doing what its supposed to be doin, ya know, making me go to sleep. Ain't nuttin like takin' the pill that's supposed to knock me on my arse and then NOT be able to sleep.
anyway, I'm sure I'll be back here more, cuz I really just can't deal with everything right now. Thanks again for all you support. I y'all |

Bump.......hi all, just dropping in to say hi. I know you are all going through some rough times and just wanted you all to know that I think of you everyday. Been real busy with school, but you are all in my prayers every night.

Mommy - glad you talked to your counselor, good to have someone listen to you. Follow through with the doc and see what he can offer in the way of meds, maybe you need something different than Seroquel. I hope things settle down soon and you feel better. Take care of yourself.
Debbie - glad you finally went to the doctor, you should start to feel better soon. Jax - thanks for holding down the fort - you always have good advice and support for those of us on here. Hope things are going well for you. Karen - glad to see you post. Hope things are going well in school and leveling out. My house is in the final stages, FINALLY, of closing the deal, in the final days, finally, should be days now, may even sign the papers tomorrow, it has been a long haul, about 2 months, seems like forever. Then I get some things done and get it on the market. Money is tight, as for everyone, and I want to fix a few things to make it a little more marketable before I list it. I am battling a cold too, just like half the world I think. Roy - hope you got your dryer fixed finally. Drives me crazy to have to do without the basics of life. I went for months when my daughter was a baby handwashing diapers and hanging them around the house drying them, drove me nuts, but we didn't have a washer and dryer, and when I didn't have money for the laundromat, I had to improvise, was awful. Too wet where we lived to hang them outside, had about 140 inches of rain a year, so too much rain, especially in the winter to hang clothes outside. So I do have sympathy pains for you. Amber - hope you are hanging in there and not letting him manipulate you or bully you. Get the authorities involved if he tries. You are too good a person to let him treat you badly, and I don't want you getting hurt. Everyone have a great day. |

We are having our yearly tornado drills in-service. Have to make 12 in-services a year. Each month a different topic. Would have to agree that things do have a way of looking better when has the proper amount of sleep. Been putting in a lot of hours so my sleeping is passing out and coming to. Pulling in some good money, though and catching up on bills. Nice to pay the bills when they come in instead of trying to budget. They are fixing to move the screaming resident to another type of facility. I am sure the others on the hall will appreciate the peace and quiet. I found out that it isn't odd to get angry when someone is scared of you without cause. I am know what it is like to be afraid of someone and being angry of someone afraid of you makes sense. Nothing we have tried seems to help the screaming resident. Keeping her drugged up doesn't seem to be the answer either. It seems her problems are outside our experience of care. It seems to be different than Alzheimer's. We have some that don't seem to sleep and have sundowners. It seems with some all we can do is the best that we can and hope for the best. The D.O.N. asked me this morning when am I just going to bring my clothes and move in since like others I have to cover for those that just seem not to be able to make regular hours. I hope everyone is doing okay today.

Oh Debs I'm glad you went to the doc!! no improvemnt yet, and im concerned because im not on the proper dose for the addisons disease, and i feel ill, ive had a addisons crisis before, and i dont know what to do, and its very dangerous. does anyone know anything about this?? |

Debbie - I don't know anything about Addison's - would send you to your doctor for advice. Don't fool around with any serious disease. Maybe your meds need adjusting, maybe the infection has affected the medication you are on for it and the meds need to be adjusted, or the lack of food and sleep for so long affected it too, I would talk to your doc and give him all the information so he has a complete base of information to deal with, he is the one who needs to deal with this. Don't fool around with your health. If your ear and sinuses aren't getting better after a few days on your antibiotic, you may need a different one, sometimes the bug is resistant to some antibiotics and you need to try a different one to get rid of it. Talk to your doc and tell him what is going on. Don't want you to get sicker, take care of yourself.
Amber - so sorry about your mom and stepmom. I did just type a note on a woman the other day who had cured her lung cancer with chemo and radiation, so there is always hope. Carotid artery surgery is really common and does a lot of good for the patients they do it on, hope she does well. Kidney failure is hard, my mom had it and congestive heart failure along with her diabetes, that is finally what she died off, all three, but she had had a heart attack at 55 and was a heavy smoker up until then, and didn't watch her diet, etc., but she lived to be 79, so she did have a pretty good life even with those diseases. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers, medical issues are so hard. My aunt is dealing with pancreas cancer now and the blood clot in her lung. She has been healthy as a horse her whole life, only high cholesterol, practically never got a cold and turned 89 today, so this was a real shock for everyone. My dad has been sick for years, heart surgery at 55, diabetes, spinal stenosis, can't really walk anymore, and two brain bleeds, one needing burr holes in his head to drain it, so I really didn't expect my aunt to get sick, expected my dad would be the first to go, sorry, that didn't sound nice. Anyways, he has been in a nursing home since December 2006 and doing really well there. That is why I am so grateful for people like Roy and Jax, without them, where would these people be?? Heck, Roy, if you move in, would they serve you breafast in bed?? You may want to tell her you will move in, but only if you get to chose the nurse/aide that gives you your spongebath -- see what she says to that -- but only if it DOESN'T get you in trouble. I know the aides and nurses at dad's home have a good sense of humor most of the time. Karen - hope you are doing well. Hang in there girl, I expect to hear that you are a famous artist some day and can say "I knew her when." Mommy - hope you are doing better - I think about all of you during the day and keep you in my thoughts and prayers. You are all such awesome people and deserve the best and to be happy. I hope you all find who/what you want or need to make you happy in this crazy life. Still no word from the bank and I am getting squirrely, she said she would call yesterday, I guess "no news is good news" right??? She said it was a "done deal, not to worry," but my patience is wearing thin. Been a long process. Take care and have a great weekend. You guys are the best. |

Heck, Marie. I have gotten so used to being in trouble. I wonder what it would feel like to be out of trouble. I am finding out that I am going to have to fix my own dryer. I am finding out a lot of my friends have become busy in their own lives. Just today I encountered another bleeding deacon. Told me that it is all about family. Last bleeding deacon told me that I should become more involved. Gee, I am so involved now. Last bleeding deacon told me he just needed to vent. I think he has too many irons in the fire. Was similar to the first bleeding deacon. She, I thought had too many irons in the fire. I am considering getting more involved in service work and said I would help. I just don't want to become a bleeding deacon myself. I am reminded of that line in the movie, "The Little Mermaid", where King Titan is talking to Sebastian about Muriel. "People have to be free to live their own lives, hmmm, Sebastion." And Sebastian says, "I always say that your majesty". King Titan says, "You always say that, hmmm, Sebastion?"
