Topic: Depression support - part 2 | |
---|---|
We passed our tornado drill. They gave it at 2 in the morning. Went pretty well they said and one were only 1 minute slower than last year of getting all the residents up in the hall. Actually some just slept through it. Had a few sundowners who once when they were awake weren't going back to sleep. State said we had to do it on all three shifts. Some that had to get up at 2 in the morning really didn't like getting up a few hours later, again. It went pretty smooth but I was glad when it was over since it kind of pressed us for time.

hey y'all....haven't been in a while (again)......been rough here and had a bad night..........deadbeat stepdad sent me a chilling email that proved i was right about him all along........he's whining because my mom won't give him none..........he didn't like the email i sent back either.......told him if he went looking elsewhere he would lose my mom cuz i'd make damn sure she was out of that home she's in and try to get her to divorce him. you should remove her now..why would he discuss his sex life with you?gross.i would have a talk with mom when she feels better.he's scary. i talked to him and scared the hell out of him..................he regrets telling me what he told me now. |

i wish spring was here..
my boss's boss was in today so it was acully make it look like you work day.. and the thing is cause of my heart surgery i kinda move at one speed. its not slow but its not rushing either. that and well i just always get the feeling like the ladies there want to get rid of me cause i will never really fit in. i only serve a purpose right now to them cause i can do my job decently. the thing that sucks there is that i like working there, but i always feel like im fighting for my job or that im a outsider |

Don't push yourself, Jeff. You know what your heart can take. Exercise and keeping active is good for the heart. That is what my heart doctor told me. I just invested in a blood pressure monitor from Walmart. I bought the Panasonic one with the book, "High Blood Pressure For Dummies". Comes with four double 'A' batteries and gives a digital readout. There is a larger edition of the book and that didn't come with it or the AC adapter. One of the nurses I work with just asked me this morning if there was something that I would like for a gift since I show up for work regularly and will work over in case someone calls in. I am going to ask for the AC adapter. I figured the 4 wheel drive pickup truck might be out of the question since she works the same place I do. Have you ever heard the saying, "The faster I go the farther behind I get?" Hang in there Jeff. I know if it is like my job sometimes it can really suck buttermilk but some days are actually good. Don't let them get you down. What used to aggravate me about some of the jobs I used to have is when they wanted to grab a broom to make yourself look busy. I mean you get caught up on your job by hurrying up then they find something else for you to do. It is why bother and makes one considering just keep at a moderate pace anyways. One of the favorite threads I used to like at the site I used to be at was entitled, "Damn if you do and Damn if don't." Can I get a witness?

Don't really need help, been through it before just a place to vent my emotions is all.
I've been really depressed lately, one I can't drive and two I don't know anyone around here...and to top the cone off there is snow on the ground, pretty much grounds skateboarding. Again, I've been through this before only at a more tender point so this is nothing new to me. |

WAY TO GO KAREN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOO! i'm expecting my high school transcript to come in any day now, then i have to go through a ton of paperwork with the state since they're paying for my CNA course.
Are any of us regulars a CNA? if so, what can i expect for the classes? |

I am a CNA and the nursing home paid for my classes. The class lasted three weeks and they really rush it. The nursing home paid for the first written exam which I passed and the clinicals which I didn't pass the first time around. I messed up on fingernail and hair care. I worried so much about being able to do blood pressure, pulse, respiration and temperature checking that they nailed me on something easy like cleaning fingernails and brushing someone's hair. The privacy curtain has to be pulled during the clinicals and fingernails have to be soaked. I should have watched Madge closer when she was doing the Palmolive commercial. Who cares if they are alive just as long as they look good? The examiner told me the reason she failed me the first time was because I was nervous. Hell, yeah I nervous if I didn't passed the exam then I wouldn't get my license and the nursing home told me if I didn't get the license I would lose my job. By the way the nail cleaning sticks make good toothpicks. The CNA before and afters are important for the exam; Some questions are pretty much self explanitory but get those abbreviations down pat before you take the test and know them by heart. Study your ass off from day one and devote the classes your full attention and to hell with everything else in your life if you want to get through the basic training of being a CNA. Unless, of course, you take the longer class where you are given time for the stuff to sink in and don't have to worry about taking two tests the next day why you are still studying what the teacher is trying to teach you during the day.

congrats karen
i went and got my check today. basically my boss told me i read into things more than a girl does and basically tried to tell me that im not as good of a employee than she expects me to be.. im so tired of this. i work extremely hard to try and get everything that i know i am expected to do done and its not good enough. i guess maybe i should be ratting out my co-workers to and wiping her bumm to while im at it. im not necessarily mad at her its just.. i value the fact that i work really really hard for them and i give a shait about the place and i get shaited on in return. |

Jeff, Just a thought...Maybe you are in the wrong job. What do you do at work?
I have also worked at jobs where I felt I was never good enough. I now believe that the people I was working for had unreasonable expectatations. Some of them really do. Just thought I would share that with you. |

If you can do IT then you are intelligent. There are no options besides pumping gas? Ive tried every office type of work but most wont give me a chance. if they have me do a written test cause i have disability in my hands. This job is walking distance and well expecnece anywhere is better than nothing. I went thru the local place for disabled people and their only advice was to go and move but the thing is i have no money or family that can afford to put me up |
