When President Reagan went to meet Gorbachev for the first time he wanted to open with a joke..this was it: "A Russian got in line for McDonalds and found the line was very long and he became enraged, 'That damn Gorbachev, look at this long line for food, I am going to the Kremlin right now to kill him!' 'Don't bother' said the fellow next to him, 'that line is even longer.' Gorbachev was not popular at home at the time but apparently he laughed til he cried at the joke..it cemented their relationship. So I will go with American. |

I can't make that choice.
Red Skelton, Jerry Lewis, Tim Conway, Eddie Murphy, Bill Cosby, Richard Pryor, Mel Brooks, Lewis Black, Robin Williams and George Conway are just a few very funny people from America. But then the British gave us gems like Red Dwarf (brilliant comedy), Benny Hill, Rowan Atkins (Mr Bean), Peter Sellers and Simon Pegg to name a few. I get true belly laughs from all of them. |

And of course Irish humour, or maybe I've just been shown the door..

Actually right now there is a debate on should the French have used our Haka to protest. For us, in New Zealand, the Haka is very personal. |

I love British humor, so I prefer that.
Some American shows are funny just the same. But I really don't like stuff like standup comedians Chris Rock, Kenny Something. |

Which is your preference? English humor or American humor? Why? I like all humour from wherever. An American tourist in London for the first time was on a bus tour, when they went over London Bridge he said my that's cool, how long did it take to build? 4 years replied the tour guide You know, back in states we could have built that in a year. Next they went past St. Pauls Cathedral, and the American tourist said my that's beautiful, how long did it take to build? 2 years replied the tour guide. You know, back in states we could have built that in 6 months. As the tour bus was passing Buckingham Palace, the American tourist said Hey! what's that place? Oh! I don't know replied the tour guide, it wasn't there yesterday. |

I love British humor, so I prefer that. Some American shows are funny just the same. But I really don't like stuff like standup comedians Chris Rock, Kenny Something. May I ask why you dont like standup comedians, madam? Some I can appreciate, but most get very aggressive and rude. I just don't like the vibe and attitude of Chris Rock and that Kenny dude (cannot remember his last name, he's rather famous in the US). There used to be another black standup comedian who was good in movies, godawful as a standup. I find such people very off-putting. I've seen some Denis Leary which was great. I suppose I don't vibe with African American standup humor. |
