We've always used grated zucchini to make bread and cake, just wondering if you can also use marrows in the same way?

Probably kitkat, by the sound of it it's the same just with a different name happy

I'm not a fan of it but it is popular especially on a full English breakfast bigsmile
You don't know how bad we've had it over here sad

Using blood and left overs. having to stuff a big vegetable, boiling chicken carcass for soups, the list goes on

And your nasty food habits have osmosed across the pond
I am afraid..and I suppose blood pudding is not any
different than..gravy.

But it looks so bad written down ;-(

laugh It does for sure.
I think the gravy you buy in the shop is from beef stock or chicken stock but tbh I'm not sure. It's just a convenience thing. In the old days we'd boil up the bones and probably add some corn flour as a thickener, yummy
No additives.

We're sending West because the east wouldn't have it laugh

Actually, I wonder what you guys thought about the food in the 1940s when you came here?
It would have been much more home cooked then!

Hell no! NO deep fried mars bars BUT I like haggis and I don't think I could tempt anyone in my family to try haggis though.

They know better than to try it sick
I've heard it makes grown men run around wearing skirts and no underwear, must be laced with opium or something laugh

I much prefer the vegetarian haggis. Just as good, if not better than the meat version.

Scottish guys don't need an excuse to go commando when wearing their skirts laugh

The old guy next to the house I've been working came over today very proud and said, do I like marrows?
Yes I replied.
I've had it before as a side with roast dinner but I'm wanting to do a stuffed one. any suggestions?

Well, I had NO idea that marrow would be a veggie?!
I thought it was about a bone with marrow in it, the ones you put in soup. So I figured maybe you invented something by filling such a bone.
So what the heck is a marrow? It looks like an elongated pumpkin, but what we call 'courgette', the Americans call 'zucchini' also comes up??
Do you call that a marrow??

Right, thanks! So the English call that courgette too, like we do?
Stuffing that would be nice :) As long as you don't overcook it there's lots you can do with it.

I should not look for food in this place anymore, it is unhealthy to look for a dating site in the refridgerator, yet somehow the sensation of being hungry keeps bringing me forth to come here, and share my emptiness.

I like courgettes sliced, then I stir fry some chicken breast, add a tin of chopped tomatoes then add the courgettes.
