Up to being 35 I tried everything which was a lot of fun but in a different era, much more dangerous stuff about now ,later this changed into heavy drinking which was fun at first but became a problem, two friends died from alcohol, I managed to get a grip and quit 10 years ago , Remember Free, with booze you lose but with dope there's hope! |

Erm , yeah
Do E's or MDMA count? I'd say so 1 time I did some mushrooms on my own, and had a pretend 3 way conversation, between, myself, Indiana Jones and Scooby Doo. About who was going to make a cup of tea, get the biscuits and roll a spliff It turns out it was me, who had to do all 3 Well, somebody had to chill those fuc%*∆π out. The floor was covered with blue snakes, probably because the carpet was blue, and well Scooby was scared, and Indy, doesn't like snakes Then there was the time smoking Salvia Divanorum, can't remember the exact strength, I think it x 30. In a bong, it put me out, and to be honest, I was scared, but still glad I did it. I might go into that in more detail, if anybody else puts any interesting stories. It was not scary in a spliff, and I stayed conscious. I was sat, on the edge of my bed, and I literally felt like somebody grabbed my shoulders, and pulled me 40 foot into the air. My body was still normal, except for when I peered over the edge of the bed, my shins ( from my knees to my feet) were 40 foot long. I confess I was a little scared, as I'm not fond of heights, but it was a blast. Salvia is by far and away, the strongest psychedelic I've done. Its actually a relatively short experience, but when you go out, time loses all meaning, so it may as well be several lifetimes I'm looking forward to this thread |

Well I'm also clean and sober and very rarely drink but I do use cannabis quite often and have for 45 years. I could just as easily think an angel swooped down and told me to do it (LSD), I had a great time every time I did it or psilocybin mushrooms or mescaline which is derived from the peyote cactus. I'm glad I had the courage to use these to explore my mind and as I said had a lot of fun doing them. This of course was mostly 30 to 40 years ago. I sure appreciate being called "stupid" by someone who obviously knows nothing about and has no experience to draw from regarding the subject at hand. Btw that would have been microdot with was a very small tablet and thus the name. I've never known of any "drugs" having a taste other than mushrooms; since they're fungi and you chew them and swallow them. No I would not encourage my "kids" of which I only have one to do psychedelics and I certainly didn't do any of them when I was a child but I was a kid as I refer to youngsters now that I'm 3 weeks away from being 63. I also wouldn't encourage my 14 y/o daughter to drink alcohol but given the choice of her drinking or using cannabis my choice would be cannabis. One kills brain cells the other doesn't. Also let's not confuse the "drugs" I'm referring to in this post with the nasty drugs that are so popular these days like meth and crack. Personally I absolutely hate meth, I believe it's the worst and most destructive drug ever and anyone that injects street drugs is stupid. Perhaps I should have used a different word. My comment was not intended for you to think I was calling you stupid. For me, it would have been stupid knowing that I have a family history of drug and alcohol addiction and have battled the world of addiction myself. To do something that gave me an extreme high would have been stupid and suicidal... as suicidal as trying to convince myself that I wasn't an alcoholic. I apologize and I'm sorry you took it that way ivegot... that wasn't my intention As far as using drugs to explore one's mind, I don't believe drugs are necessary to do that. Actually I know they aren't. But to each his/her own, it's not my business who does what, unless of course we're dating, it's just doesn't serve a purpose for me and I choose not to. |

Erm , psychedelics aren't addictive
I take it back, I'm going off this thread. Where are the stories relating to the psychedelic experiences And yes, I'm great believer it will allow you to know yourself better, and is quite fascinating and perfectly natural |

Have you ever done psychedelic drugs No. Although I had every opportunity. I am one of those who learns best by watching others. I remember when all my friends were doing coke. Then that basketball player died (Len Bias) after having taken it just the one time. Seemed wiser not to experiment ;-) |

Then that basketball player died (Len Bias) after having taken it just the one time. Seemed wiser not to experiment ;-) Exactly. And why bother? That's one thing I always wondered about, same as with boozing. I don't need any crap substance to have fun. I've smoked weed, then hash for a short period, then gave up on it. Only made me cough, ruined my gums, and to be honest, I didn't enjoy it much. I know both my kids smoke weed, but no one does in my home. I don't like the smell of it and I don't need that chit in my house. Once my son -as a teenager- had 5 weed plants in his room. The argument being you're allowed to have 5 per person. I doubt that goes for teenagers, lol, but I didn't want it in my house. Problem, as my then partner allowed his son to. But I told mine if they weren't gone by the end of the next day I'd throw them in the bin. Which I would've done, and he knew that. They were gone. Last year he told me he'd planted them in a field with wild cows behind the old sea dyke hahaha. |

Lots of times. The only problem with mushrooms is that they tend to last a long time. I think micro-dosing with a few is probably better.

Oh man, when I was a teeny bopper and in college I was an acid freak.
Loved stucco ceilings as they melted and tracers, loved the tracers. I remember one time in college I did three hits of LSD25 Microdot. They said you should never trip in front of a mirror but damn, what a trip that was! Maybe it was the music? Never had a bad trip and sometimes, when I'm in just the right state of mind, I can 'feel' it still. But hey, I got a really good memory. I remember one time a buddy of mine got three sheets of Mr Natural Blotter. He also scored a kilo and the weed was on the kitchen table and we were cutting up the hits and weighing the ounces. The bong was always full, we were getting a contact buzz from handling the blotter as we cut it up. Then there was a VERY LOUD knocking on the door and some yelling. We were freaking out! Turned out it was just our buddies arriving to party with us. They were messing with our heads. Last time I did a hit of acid was 1986. I was trippin on the ceiling melting and my buddies lifted the fireplace mantle and sat it on my chest. I was freaking out man! It was great! |

I've stared into the mirror tripping
It is quite strange, you look like a statue sometimes, or somebody else I've never had tracers something I always wanted However there is a line from a stone roses song ' and the grass was several shades of blue, every member of Parliament trips on glue' So I was delighted to find, that while on shrooms 1 day, after wandering through the woods on to a golf course ( to look for and find fly agarics ) , and stopping to smoke a bit of blueberry, that the grass was indeed, several shades of blue Everything was fine until about half a dozen fellas ( who looked decidedly like c.I.d. ) wandered up to tee off Smells a bit ganja wish, 1 of them said I was dieing to reply, but there resemblance to old bill, made me stay schtum, but inside I was saying I should bloody well hope it does, that cost me £20 Also I would strongly advise turning the lights off, and lighting a candle, the difference really is chalk and cheese Lights on, carpet full of blue snakes, walls breathing, cup moving, seeing a bit of stuff But omg, that's like 10% of what you see, when you turn the lights off and light a candle. I'd tripped a few times, but never done it, and heard it was good. Honestly, if it's your thing, and you ain't tried it, you ssssssoooo should |

No and I don't have any interest in trying them . I have seen firsthand the chaos and permanent brain damage some recreational party drugs have caused .

Not that I'd ever approve of the partaking
of any illegal substance. But, i seem to recall, when ecstasy was street legal in the U.S., and sold for $5. per hit... In yer face, millenialls. |
