I didn't think people still went on blind dates.
Ones that you've seen pictures of are sometimes a bit of a shock to meet. Although I would consider a blind woman. Might be a good option!! |

I've never been on a blind date. But it could be quite adventurous and fun!

Just ruined the term "heavy petting" for me. I'm gonna be scarred.

For me the fear of the unknown leading up to the dates caused alot of anxiety. Hopefully in the future the anxiety will be replaced by anticipation. Its kind of like going on vacation. The month leading up to the trip is almost as much fun as the vacation itself. I think I actually like the nervousness of a first date, blind or otherwise.

Well... Given the senses of humor my friends have.
There's no way in Hell, that I'd even consider a blind date. The very notion, has given me very disturbing visions of 'What's that? It's Pat' from SNL, showing up at the restaurant. No! Don't even ask! |

Although I have never been on a blind date (and will never be because the men in my age group might already be dead), I don't think it is as scary as one might think.
First off, a blind date is date set up by your friends or family. Now, they would not set you up with a serial killer, would they? Your friends or family will tell you in advance what they look like, what they do for a living, and if they are dating or marriage material. And with present technologies, they may even show you a picture or two. On internet dating, first meet is not called a blind date. You and other person already know each other from a dating site and agreed that you have enough in common to meet and see if there is chemistry. As long as you are truthful, why be nervous? If your date shows up and not the person in the picture, excuse yourself and leave. or just leave! My two cents |

Nervous for a date... I think you get that when you make too much of it, make it too big, then it becomes scary.
I think mostly to do with not enough self-confidence and the thinking that you are going to meet your future partner. The first you gotta work on, the latter makes it too big. Just think you're going to have a drink with someone nice, just another adult. You've talked to them, they're nice, and you're only going to meet a nice person over coffees. That makes it more realistic instead of a huge thing and will help self-confidence, and getting to actually enjoying the date. |

I've said this before here but I think a lot of people that use dating sites communicate so little / poorly that many of their dates are close to "blind" dates. I don't understand this...

I've never been on a blind date. I would welcome it depending on who was arranging it for me.

I've said this before here but I think a lot of people that use dating sites communicate so little / poorly that many of their dates are close to "blind" dates. I don't understand this... On the other hand I have had email and text conversations that have led to information overload. I think gone are the days of 2nd and 3rd dates where you are still discovering likes and/or dislikes. Cutting to the chase takes alot out of the pursuit. |

And what is it with those who have no profile picture, want to chat so you can get to know each other before they show themselves
They'll say it's not about look it's about the person. I was going to say that it'll turn out to be the opposite sex to what you're looking for but until you actually meet you'll never know. |

I've been on exactly, one blind date.
First thing i noticed, is that she looked like Junior Samples, right down to the 5 o'clock shadow, with a moo moo on. Wanting to know where i was taking her to dinner. As politely as I could, I bolted faster than an SR71 Blackbird.. |

Nothing wrong with 5 o'clock shadow as long as it's down below but that's for the do you trim thread |
