Democrat-led House panel subpoenas ex-White House security chief in security clearance probe
"WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A Democratic-led congressional committee voted on Tuesday to subpoena a former White House security clearance chief over whistleblower allegations that the Trump administration inappropriately reversed career officials' decisions to deny security clearances to some of the president's advisers"' http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-subpoenas/democrat-led-house-panel-subpoenas-ex-white-house-security-chief-in-security-clearance-probe-idUSKCN1RE26K Cummings said the White House and Kline's lawyer on Monday responded he would voluntarily testify but would not answer questions about specific security clearance cases or violations..... Since when do people get to tell a Grand Jury/Congressional Committee what questions they will and won't answer. Again! Two sets of rules in this country. Mueller report: Congress votes to subpoena release of the entire document after Trump’s attorney general ignores deadline "A powerful House of Representatives congressional committee has voted to subpoena the justice department for special counsel Robert Mueller’s full report and its underlying evidence on the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia, in an escalation of tensions that sets the stage for fresh conflict between Congress and the president". http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/mueller-report-democrats-subpoena-trump-william-barr-jerry-nadler-house-congress-a8853011.html I think it's a sad state of affairs that our Congress has to go through all this unnecessary crap just to get to the whole truth. White House security row shines harsh light on Trump's son-in-law "Washington (AFP) - Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner faced little scrutiny on his way to becoming one of America's most powerful people. But now a row over White House security clearances is pushing the president's publicity-shy favorite into unwelcome limelight. Unlike his can't-get-enough-exposure father-in-law, Kushner is a discreet presence". http://www.voanews.com/a/white-house-security-row-shines-harsh-light-on-trump-s-son-in-law/4858997.html Donald Trump Talks Up Nonexistent Health Care Plan And Border Shutdown "Surprising members of his own party on Capitol Hill, Trump has turned the conversation to a 'better than Obamacare' health care plan no one has seen and continues to talk up shutting the U.S.-Mexico border". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2D_LQJdVfU If Biden doesn't handle this correctly it could cause him a problem in 20 20. We already have Creepy Trump humping porn stars and such. When we get rid of Trump and his craziness, we don't need anymore. So far, at this point, I don't believe Biden meant any disrespect by his actions. But if he doesn't handle it right, the right will try there best to make him look worse than Trump. Even though it's a stretch. I wouldn't put it past the Republicans to try it. Did Joe Biden miss his moment? "What’s happening? Former Vice President Joe Biden is under fire after Nevada legislator Lucy Flores said he inappropriately planted a “big slow kiss” on her head at a 2014 campaign rally. A second woman claimed Biden made her uncomfortable when he leaned in to rub noses at a 2009 fundraiser. Both women said the contact was not sexual but that it crossed lines. The charges have renewed scrutiny of a pattern of intimate physical interactions — many caught on camera — that have earned Biden the internet nickname “Creepy Uncle Joe". http://www.yahoo.com/news/joe-biden-miss-moment-010542144.html |

www.theguardian.com Joe Biden responds to misconduct allegations: 'I will be more mindful' – Former vice-president says it’s his ‘responsibility’ to be more careful after several women said his touching made them uncomfortable. "2" women does not equate to several . And both women claimed they did not believe his advances were sexual in nature . As reported on CNN Joe Biden is a good man that has done tremendous things on behalf of all woman Unlike trumps statement of being able to grab women by their private parts and getting away with it because hes rich . As reported on "Entertainment Tonight" with audio Groping suspect says Trump said it was OK to grab women "The man was charged in New Mexico with "abusive sexual contact" after he allegedly touched the breasts of the passenger sitting in front of him". Ms.H when one of those cops shoots an innocent victim they or the department gets sued..not to mention what is going on in Venezuela is more than a good enough reason to vet these people that come in and not catch and release them..and when you look at the fact that those who reinstated the catch and release law is a traitor..and just because we may be litigious is by no means a reason to allow those into the country when you have no idea who they are.. Do you think that China and Russia are the only ones in Venezuela you also have terrorists groups there like Hezbollah and Hamas..how do you know they aren't coming through the border..we don't..it's just a matter of time..just like I said we would see a spread of diseases which is happening as well..Like I've said many times before an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.. Do you just release products on the market that aren't checked out..do you just give someone a gun and make them a cop before doing a background check..these people aren't being vetted some are sneaking in..how many are sneaking in to being a cop..that's what background checks are for..I was right about the spreading of diseases I hate to say what I think is coming next.. |

Yes, the department, not those who pay the department or those who make decisions ABOVE the department. Certain responsibilities are delegated according to proximity. The people who vote for funding for police departments are not responsible if the department doesn't use the funding to serve the public interests. Those who vote on border security are not responsible for the actions of those who get PAST security, anymore than those who vote on de-regulating products or services are responsible for any death or injury products or services result in. Just because the vote is to not regulate it is not a mandate that the provider or manufacturer can not have their own standards in place to assure public safety. As far as the tangent about catch and release, I have two words, priority and discretion. They are built into EVERY system we have where laws are concerned. Those making the decisions are not expected to do the EXACT same thing with every individual case, but make decisions on the unique details OF individual cases. as I have said, numbers are already declining, these 'what if' scenarios have lost their steam if they are built around assuming the worst based purely on numbers. |

House Democrats ask IRS for Trump's tax returns
"House Democrats have sent their long-anticipated request for six years of President Donald Trump's tax returns to the Internal Revenue Service, the opening salvo in what could prove an explosive battle between Democrats and the Trump administration over the president’s personal finances that is expected to wind up in the courts". http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/house-democrats-treasury-trumps-tax-returns/story?id=62150855 Treasury Secretary Mnuchin on turning over Trump's tax returns: 'We will follow the law' "House Democrats grilled Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin on Thursday about how he would handle a request from Congress for the president's tax returns at a Capitol Hill budget hearing". http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/democrats-expected-treasury-secretary-steven-mnuchin-donald-trumps/story?id=61667306 Trump lawyer talks potential presidential pardons, tax returns and NY probes "Within hours of declaring victory in fending off a 22-month investigation into Russian collusion, President Donald Trump's personal attorney Jay Sekulow told the ABC News podcast "The Investigation" that the president's legal team has already begun gearing up for vigorous new legal battles in Washington, D.C., and New York". http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/trump-lawyer-talks-potential-presidential-pardons-tax-returns/story?id=61936580 Rep. Taking questions from reporters while sat alongside Jens Stoltenberg in the Oval Office, Mr Trump railed against Democrats in congress providing oversight of him and called for an investigation into why the special counsel’s probe into Trump campaign ties with Russia was launched". http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-mueller-report-oranges-wind-farms-noise-cancer-a8852111.html Trump once again making a fool of himself in public. For the whole world to see and hear. Do wind farms cause cancer? Some claims Trump made about the industry are just hot air "WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump has made no secret about his disdain of wind energy. In 2012, he complained that Scotland was "hell-bent on destroying (its) coastline" with proposed wind turbines to be built offshore near the site of Trump's luxury golf resort in Aberdeenshire. In 2016, he ran for the White House on a pledge to bring back coal and expand development of other fossil fuels. And in March, the president mocked the industry during a speech to a conservative organization in Washington. The president disparaged wind farms this week while spinning his arm like a turbine and making an unpleasant whirring sound. TRUMP: "If you have a windmill anywhere near your house, congratulations. Your house just went down 75% of value. And they say the noise causes cancer." — remarks at Republican fundraising dinner Tuesday". http://www.apnews.com/25ff42c9747043b3b80e098a0f90b1d5 |

Trump pivots on pledges, exploring the art of the climb-down
"WASHINGTON (AP) -- His border shutdown went from imminent to uncertain. A major health care push was declared and then delayed. Funding cuts were inserted in his proposed budget and just as quickly taken out. President Donald Trump has been exploring the art of the climb-down". http://www.apnews.com/629c7c1092d54b9c85b68b771f0e1728 Some in Mueller's team see report as more damaging to Trump than Barr summary: NY Times "WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Some of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigators have told associates that the findings of their probe are more damaging for President Donald Trump than Attorney General William Barr indicated in his four-page summary, the New York Times reported on Wednesday". http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-russia-findings/some-in-muellers-team-see-report-as-more-damaging-to-trump-than-barr-summary-ny-times-idUSKCN1RG01W Mueller was the least of Trump's problems. There is still 16 ongoing investigation into Trump by The Southern District of New York, Eastern District of New York, The Eastern District of Virginia, The DC District Court, The New York Attorney General, The New Jersey Attorney General, and the Manhattan District Attorney. I have no doubt that Mr. Barr glossed over many, many details contained in the Mueller report - details that America DESERVES to know. This can only be interpreted to be because he is not objective and not impartial in this. Given the gravity of the situation, it is imperative that the report is published in total to the American public. We need to know who really occupies our Oval Office and what he has and has not done. Trump Can’t Stop Reminding Everyone That He Doesn’t Care About Puerto Rico "The White House sends a clear message about who it considers "American". On Monday evening, President Trump launched into a lengthy social media invective against the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico, lambasting its politicians for their handling of federal disaster relief aid in the aftermath of hurricanes Maria and Irma. Elected officials there "only take from [the] USA," he complained, referring to an island that has been part of the country he governs for well over a century. "The place is a mess—nothing works". http://www.gq.com/story/trump-puerto-rico-relief-package Trump White House spokesperson refers to Puerto Rico as ‘that country’ on live television — twice "A spokesperson for the White House referred to Puerto Rico as “that country” during a live television interview — twice — while providing false facts about the administration’s response to Hurricane Maria". http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-puerto-rico-country-hogan-gidley-hurricane-maria-disaster-response-a8851801.html AP FACT CHECK: Trump misstates hurricane aid for Puerto Rico "WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump is distorting reality when it comes to disaster aid for hurricane-stricken Puerto Rico. In a flurry of angry tweets Tuesday, he argues the U.S. territory has gotten more than its fair share of money to rebuild after Hurricane Maria devastated the island in September 2017". http://www.apnews.com/81040307ce794e74af737af97caa200a The Mueller probe was money well spent "President Trump has repeatedly mischaracterized the Mueller inquiry as a “witch hunt.” Trump is wrong. The Russians clearly did attempt to influence the outcome of the election, preferring Trump over his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton. Americans deserve to know exactly what the Russians did, why they did it, how effective they were—and who worked with them". http://finance.yahoo.com/news/the-mueller-probe-was-money-well-spent-015006842.html |

People who like Obama thought he was great. Those of us who felt he was damaging the economy, being a goofball bowing to Arabian leaders and kissing their rings, and all the other stupid things he did --well, it just was downright embarrassing to REAL AMERICANS.... Hmmm, I wouldnt think being a goofball, OR arrogance OR interference were really a concern for Trump supporters, Mr. "I know more than military generals or our intelligence community" Mr. "I have a genius IQ but don't want you to see my grades. Mr. "Players who kneel during the anthem should be fired" as far as the economy. Facts are facts. It totally depends upon which facts people focus on. But considering what economy WAS when he came in. I find it hard to not laugh at the idea that he was 'damaging' what he came into. ![]() As I wrote earlier, Obama’s key failure was overseas; his omissions on Syria until late. On domestic issues there is no question that he inherited the deepest recession in recent history. So how was US on the road to recovery as the Chart shows. Was there some Obama magic? Housing: In 2012 my Ex (who is in US) was trying to sell her house. (She works as a lecturer in a private college in NYC). I wired a substantial amount to help her keep it. When I checked around with my friends, (Americans generally don’t discuss their finances); I received confirmation that people were finding it difficult to keep their homes. The chart states: ‘home prices rose’ but it is when you try to sell one realizes how desperate it is at the lower end of the totem pole. So the question is with the domestic recession, with in-affordability to buy homes how did housing rise? The answer could be US corporate holding some of the Sub Prime. But first let us understand how US GDP rose. GDP: After 2008, American firms who had an overseas market continued to expand their operations abroad. Even companies like Ford, who would normally send American auditors to look over their manufacturing in Europe and Asia, established locally run audit firms in these countries. Ford was earning more from overseas factories and not from US manufactured for exports - Based on my first hand information / experience. Stock Market: Stocks of US companies like IBM which then had a substantial presence in China were the first to rise. It also meant that manufacturing jobs and plants were being shipped overseas. All this 'exports' was a matter of survival because let us remember that many US corporate were also left holding considerable share in subprime. ---xx-- While it's up to you all to connect the dots the point is in 2009, on the economic front; there was little anybody else as president could have done. |

But I inherited a mess, I inherited a mess in so many ways. I inherited a mess in the Middle East, and a mess with North Korea, I inherited a mess with jobs, despite the statistics, you know, my statistics are even better, but they are not the real statistics because you have millions of people that can’t get a job, ok. And I inherited a mess on trade. I mean we have many, you can go up and down the ladder. But that’s the story. Hey look, in the mean time, I guess, I can’t be doing so badly, because I’m president, and you’re not. You know. Say hello to everybody OK? source: https://todayintrumpland.wordpress.com/ Trumpland must indeed be an interesting place to live. His statistics are 'even better, but they are not the real statistics' - you have to have a laugh at this man when you read what he actually says! |

Advice to journalists from Steve Adler, Editor-in-Chief at Reuters:
It’s not every day that a U.S. president calls journalists “among the most dishonest human beings on earth” or that his chief strategist dubs the media “the opposition party.” It’s hardly surprising that the air is thick with questions and theories about how to cover the new administration. So what is the Reuters answer? To oppose the administration? To appease it? To boycott its briefings? To use our platform to rally support for the media? All these ideas are out there, and they may be right for some news operations, but they don’t make sense for Reuters. We already know what to do because we do it every day, and we do it all over the world. To state the obvious, Reuters is a global news organization that reports independently and fairly in more than 100 countries, including many in which the media is unwelcome and frequently under attack. I am perpetually proud of our work in places such as Turkey, the Philippines, Egypt, Iraq, Yemen, Thailand, China, Zimbabwe, and Russia, nations in which we sometimes encounter some combination of censorship, legal prosecution, visa denials, and even physical threats to our journalists. We respond to all of these by doing our best to protect our journalists, by recommitting ourselves to reporting fairly and honestly, by doggedly gathering hard-to-get information – and by remaining impartial. We write very rarely about ourselves and our troubles and very often about the issues that will make a difference in the businesses and lives of our readers and viewers. We don’t know yet how sharp the Trump administration’s attacks will be over time or to what extent those attacks will be accompanied by legal restrictions on our newsgathering. But we do know that we must follow the same rules that govern our work anywhere, namely: Do’s: Cover what matters in people’s lives and provide them the facts they need to make better decisions. Become ever-more resourceful: If one door to information closes, open another one. Give up on hand-outs and worry less about official access. They were never all that valuable anyway. Our coverage of Iran has been outstanding, and we have virtually no official access. What we have are sources. Get out into the country and learn more about how people live, what they think, what helps and hurts them, and how the government and its actions appear to them, not to us. Keep the Thomson Reuters Trust Principles close at hand, remembering that “the integrity, independence and freedom from bias of Reuters shall at all times be fully preserved.” Dont's: Never be intimidated, but: Don’t pick unnecessary fights or make the story about us. We may care about the inside baseball but the public generally doesn’t and might not be on our side even if it did. Don’t vent publicly about what might be understandable day-to-day frustration. In countless other countries, we keep our own counsel so we can do our reporting without being suspected of personal animus. We need to do that in the U.S., too. Don’t take too dark a view of the reporting environment: It’s an opportunity for us to practice the skills we’ve learned in much tougher places around the world and to lead by example – and therefore to provide the freshest, most useful, and most illuminating information and insight of any news organization anywhere. This is our mission, in the U.S. and everywhere. We make a difference in the world because we practice professional journalism that is both intrepid and unbiased. When we make mistakes, which we do, we correct them quickly and fully. When we don’t know something, we say so. When we hear rumors, we track them down and report them only when we are confident that they are factual. We value speed but not haste: When something needs more checking, we take the time to check it. We try to avoid “permanent exclusives” – first but wrong. We operate with calm integrity not just because it’s in our rulebook but because – over 165 years – it has enabled us to do the best work and the most good. In my humble opinion, this is most likely the most reliable source of information about life in Trumpland. |

I still dont know where the chart with Obamas photo on came from. People keep reposting it, but I can neither agree nor disagree unless I know where it comes from. Can admin or the OP or someone tell me where you found that? I have searched back statements and cannot find the original. So therefore, it means nothing. I am sincere in wanting to know where does that comparison come from. If we are to let everyone know where we get our info, then all the repostings should also be easy to look up.

It's all going to come out eventually. Trump's Russia report victory turns sour "Washington (AFP) - Donald Trump wanted a victory lap after the apparent flop of the Russia collusion probe, but on Thursday, 11 days later, the president instead found himself being chased in circles. Over and over the president has crowed that special counsel Robert Mueller's massive investigation into the Trump team's links to Moscow resulted in total "exoneration." But that claim is based on the conclusions of Trump's handpicked attorney general William Barr who released a four-page summary of the still secret report. The actual report, running hundreds of pages, has yet to be released publicly. And US media reports have now quoted sources from the previously almost totally leak-proof Mueller team saying that Barr's characterization glossed over potentially damaging findings". http://www.yahoo.com/news/trumps-russia-report-victory-turns-sour-161054826.html And the idiotic things he says doesn't help his cause. Just makes him look ignorant/ stupid. Donald Trump said wind turbines cause cancer. Chuck Grassley called that 'idiotic.' "Count Chuck Grassley as among those displeased by President Donald Trump's attacks on wind energy. The longtime Iowa GOP senator told Iowa reporters on Wednesday afternoon that Trump's comments implying turbines cause cancer was "idiotic." Then he explained to Capitol Hill reporters that the president needs to stop railing against wind power". http://www.politico.com/story/2019/04/03/grassley-trump-wind-energy-1254531 |

If we are to let everyone know where we get our info, then all the repostings should also be easy to look up. the beauty of that chart is it is DATA. so it really doesnt matter where you find it. If the data is accurate, it will be easy to verify whereever such data is available. The chart provides specific time frame (feb of 09 and aug of 16) and the statistic or data subject. With those starting points, one can find the same data at any source that records such information. For example. the BLS reports the employment and unemployment numbers in the US. So the first statistic given can be verified by going there. http://www.bls.gov/opub/ted/2009/mar/wk2/art02.htm?view_full http://www.bls.gov/opub/ted/2016/unemployment-rate-unchanged-at-4-point-9-percent-in-july-2016.htm |
