I see Republicans as, generally, loud, noisy, gun owning people who want to control everything, with of course the donald as the worst example of this that anyone could think of.

I live here, I'm republican, a small business owner, and I see the dems as the kickback party.

I know two other business owners who are staunch republicans. You'd never know it on the surface. Both contributed heavily to electing dems in office. Both got city contracts, and made millions doing it. They played them, got rich, and moved out to another state and retired.

No, we don't wish to control everything. Just our own lives. I know those business owners gave the city their best work. It's the way they did things. Let the dems squabble over running things. Let them deal with the messes.

The person I'm most concerned with, is the guy sitting behind this keyboard. If my life is set, I'm good. You wanna run things? Go right ahead. If you screw it up, that's your problem. Don't come running to me with your problems and think I'll help. I'm not going to. You get to own that mess. There is a great saying I try to live by-

I'll let you make your own mistakes.

Back on topic. What's going on in Trumpland.

AP fact check: Trump takes credit for Obama’s gains for vets

"WASHINGTON — Boastful on the occasion of Memorial Day, President Donald Trump and his Veterans Affairs secretary are claiming full credit for health care improvements that were underway before they took office.

Trump said he passed a private-sector health care program, Veterans Choice, after failed attempts by past presidents for the last “45 years.” That’s not true. The Choice program, which allows veterans to see doctors outside the government-run VA system at taxpayer expense, was first passed in 2014 under President Barack Obama".

But Trump supporters claim it was passed last year. Which is another Trump/Republican lie.

Impeach Trump? Most 2020 Democrats tiptoe past the question

Court Blocks Chunk of Border Wall Funds, Citing Trump’s Remarks as a Reason

"President Donald Trump’s attempts to fund his much-touted border wall were thwarted, at least partially, by a Friday evening ruling by U.S. District Court Judge Haywood Gilliam in Sierra Club v. Trump, Politico reported.

The Sierra Club took Trump to court after he declared a national emergency and tried to reallocate $8.1 billion in defense funding to pay for the wall. But, the judge said, the president’s emergency powers only allow that kind of transfer of funds for “unforeseen military requirements” and blocked a $1 billion transfer of funds from the Pentagon’s counterdrug efforts".

White House says U.S. president, N. Korean dictator 'agree' on 'low IQ' assessment of Joe Biden, continues downplaying N. Korea missile threat

"Before President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un met at their historical summits, they lobbed attacks at each other through speeches and social media, with Kim calling Trump a “mentally deranged U.S. dotard” and Trump calling Kim “a madman” and “Little Rocket Man.” Now they “agree” on an assessment of Democratic frontrunner Joe Biden as a “low IQ” person".

The 45 most bizarre lines from Donald Trump's wild Montana speech

"President Donald Trump's sprint to the midterm elections continued Thursday night in Montana, where he appeared at a campaign rally to boost Republican Matt Rosendale's challenge against Democratic Sen. The 14 Most Bizarre Things Donald Trump Apparently Believes

"If you've been conscious between 2015 and today, chances are you're aware that Donald Trump, the president, has pretty unorthodox beliefs. I'm not talking about the blatant racism and overt corruption that has marked his administration—I'm talking about the straight-up weird parts of Trump's worldview. Trump's Japan trip: President blasts Biden, Democrats, Mueller while bringing politics to world stage

President Donald Trump once again upended convention during a formal state visit to Japan over the weekend, repeatedly blasting Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden throughout the trip. The president latched onto an insult hurled at Biden by North Korea’s Kim Jong Un and told an international audience he agreed with the dictator. -

Proving once again that he's no stable genius, everyone is laughing at the clown flapping his gums.

Let's review some of Trump's claims in his tweet. Best economy possibly in the history of this Country. More than a few Presidents had a better economy. Clinton, as an example, for eight years had higher annual GDP growth than Trump achieved in his first two years. Best job growth. The job growth in 2014, 2015, 2016 under Obama are higher than the job growth reported under Trump in 2017 and 2018. Veterans Choice. Who is Trump trying to fool? Veterans Choice was implemented early in Obama's term. Trump has zero to do with Veterans Choice. Apparently, Trump forgot he fired the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, apparently the Secretary had issues.

Trump lied three times in one tweet. That is pretty much par for the course.

Once again, Trump stands with a dictator over one of our biggest allies.

Trump publicly disagrees with Japan’s Abe over North Korea missile threat, calling Kim ‘smart man’

"Trump has said he is unfazed by North Korea’s recent short-range missile tests, putting him publicly at odds with Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe who is hosting the US president on a state visit.

The two leaders disagreed on the issue during a joint press conference designed to showcase US-Japan relations in Tokyo on Monday. Mr. Abe, standing alongside Trump following hours of talks, said Pyongyang’s missile tests earlier this month violated UN Security Council resolutions and were “of great regret".

Our leader does not know what a trade imbalance is. The leader of our country does not understand the most basic of trade matters. All it means is we buy more of their stuff than they buy of ours.
Just imagine what these world leaders must think when our leader does not appear to grasp the basics of things like trade. Some of you trust Trump by default, that he is an expert in everything. Actual experts are flabbergasted. Even amateurs with a basic understanding, like myself in regard to trade, are astounded by the ignorance.

Why the stock market is one or two bad economic reports away from a collapse

"Investors need to wake the hell up.

Just because the market is “holding up well” during the past month or so of dreary trade war headlines doesn’t mean everything is fine and dandy. The signs are starting to build that the global economy is cooling down more quickly than many balding pundits and aging stock price predictors would have investors to believe".

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/why-the-stock-market-is-one-or-two-bad-economic-reports-away-from-a-collapse-104950229.html

If you lived through the Reagan years (and willing to admit it.) you've already seen this before. Obama got this economy started. Trump has done nothing to keep it going. If something isn't done fairly soon, Trump's tariffs will eventually cause our economy to fail. The stock market has been showing signs of it for a while now.

This is what's hurting the Republican party. This is why there are people that are turning away from the Republican Party and going, Independent. They don't want to be connected in any way to people such as these.

Hate makes a comeback in the Pacific Northwest

"SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Nearly two decades after the Aryan Nations’ Idaho compound was demolished, far-right extremists are maintaining a presence in the Pacific Northwest.

White nationalism has been on the rise across the U.S., but it has particular resonance along the Idaho-Washington border, where the Aryans espoused hate and violence for years.

The neo-Nazi group was based near Hayden Lake, Idaho, starting in the 1970s, and eventually was bankrupted in a lawsuit brought by local activists and the Southern Poverty Law Center. Its compound was seized, and supporters dispersed".

Mueller statement moves Cory Booker to back impeachment

"Presidential candidate Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., announced that he supports launching impeachment proceedings against President Trump in the wake of special counsel Robert Mueller’s public statement on Wednesday.

“Congress has a legal and moral obligation to begin impeachment proceedings immediately,” said Booker, who added that it is the “only path forward” amid what he described as the Trump administration’s stonewalling of congressional investigations".

Mueller, in First Comments on Russia Inquiry, Declines to Clear Trump

"WASHINGTON — Robert S. Mueller III, the special counsel, on Wednesday declined to clear President Trump of obstruction of justice in his first public characterization of his two-year-long investigation of Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election.

“If we had had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said so,” Mr. Mueller said, reading from prepared notes behind a lectern at the Justice Department. “We did not, however, make a determination as to whether the president did commit a crime".

Mueller: 'If we had had confidence that the president had clearly not committed a crime, we would have said so'

Jerry Nadler on impeachment: ‘All options are on the table’

" Following special counsel Robert Mueller’s first public statement about the two-year investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler declared, “With respect to [the] impeachment question at this point, all options are on the table.”

“And nothing should be ruled out,” said Rep. Nadler, D-N.Y., who made a statement to reporters Wednesday. “What special counsel Mueller said loud and clear today for the American people is that President Trump is lying when he says no collusion, no obstruction and that he was exonerated".

http://www.yahoo.com/news/jerry-nadler-on-impeachment-all-options-are-on-the-table-192814494.html

He could only carry the investigation so far and his hands were tied as far as pressing charges. However, he didn't exonerate Trump and he said, had he found the conclusion that he was not guilty of obstruction, he would have said so, which he did not! He's now passed it on to Congress to continue with the proceedings, which they can further investigate and if finding impeachable offenses, can, by Constitutional authority, launch impeachment proceedings.
It's not over by a long shot.

" If we had confidence after a thorough investigation of the facts that the President clearly did not commit obstruction of justice, we would so state,” the report read. “We are unable to reach that judgment. The evidence we obtained about the President’s actions and intent present difficult issues that prevent us from conclusively determining that no criminal conduct occurred. Accordingly, while this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him.”

Quote, Robert Mueller.

“If we had had confidence that the president had clearly not committed a crime, we would have said so,” said Mueller, adding, “Charging the president with a crime is not an option we could consider.”

"It would be unfair to potentially accuse somebody of a crime when there can be no court resolution of the actual charge,” said Mueller, further explaining the reasoning".

Fox anchor Bret Baier: Mueller speech was not 'no collusion, no obstruction' as Trump says

"WASHINGTON — One Fox anchor disagrees with how President Trump is interpreting special counsel Robert Mueller's report and comments on the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

On Fox News, anchor Bret Baier said that "this was not – as the president says time and time again – 'no collusion, no obstruction.' It was much more nuanced than that. He said specifically they couldn’t find evidence to move forward with the crime of collusion for the investigation of the Trump campaign."

President Trump has repeatedly said that Mueller's report exonerated him, but Mueller specifically said in his speech on Wednesday that "As set forth in our report, after that investigation, if we had confidence that the President clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said that. We did not, however, make a determination as to whether the President did commit a crime".

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/onpolitics/2019/05/29/bret-baier-says-mueller-probe-not-what-trump-says/1271840001/

Mueller never stated he didn't have enough evidence to charge with obstruction, he stated that he did not have the authority or power to indict a sitting president and left it to Congress. You know things are about to get interesting now that some Fox anchors are starting to speak truthfully about Trump and the Mueller report.

War criminals and Trump's pardon power

"In early May, President Trump issued a pardon to Michael Behenna, a former Army soldier who had been convicted of murdering an Iraqi prisoner. Trump has said he is now considering pardons for several other U.S. soldiers who have been charged with or convicted of committing war crimes while serving overseas.

The soldiers under consideration reportedly include Edward Gallagher, a Navy SEAL who was accused by members of his own platoon of stabbing an unarmed prisoner to death and shooting a girl with a sniper rifle".

Their jobs do not include murdering unarmed people.

Trump is confused about impeachment, but he knows it’s a 'dirty' word

"When President Trump was asked about the possibility of impeachment Thursday morning outside the White House, he understood that it was bad — “a dirty, filthy, disgusting word” — but seemed confused about how the process works".

" Trump had previously said he would “first head to the U.S. Supreme Court” if Democrats ever attempted to impeach him, but the Constitution gives the courts no role in the impeachment process, except Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts would become involved later in the process in the Senate. Trump hitting Mexico with 5% tariff in response to migrants

I’m curious if Trump has considered how Mexico is supposed to stop people from leaving?

I don't think he can even reconcile a checkbook! 5% tariff will be paid by the Americans who buy trucks and cars assembled in Mexico and imported food. Every dime of taxes, tariffs, fees, etc is added to the price of imports and it's the American people who pay it, not the foreign companies or governments.

Is that all he knows how to do?

During a presidential election there are several debates between the two candidates. With over 20 democratic candidates the pre-democrat debates will be revealing and could be fiery. Most of the policy being put forward is nothing but antiTrump retoric. It wouldn't surprise me if the democratic party will ask for a debate between President Trump and a half a dozen of the leading contenders of the democratic party. In other words they want to have a wolf pack to attack the President and if he denies the attempt they'll say he's afraid of the truth.

The national democratic party doesn't have a spelled out platform on real issues. The only platform they all have is "Defeat Trump". Not much of a platform and it won't impress the American people.
