Trump and Kim Un:

In Hanoi on Wednesday, when they held a brief one-on-one chat and had a social dinner, the two again displayed outward signs of an unlikely bromance, clasping hands and appearing to share jokes as reporters shouted questions.

Trump described Kim as a "great leader" and said his country had "tremendous economic potential, unbelievable, unlimited" as he vowed to "help" North Korea achieve those goals.

In return, Kim appeared to have been counting the days until he saw Trump again."We came all the way to Hanoi to meet again, 261 days later," he told the US president, vowing to do his best to ensure a "great outcome" from the talks.

Michael Cohen calls Trump a 'cheat,' reveals net worth numbers for Buffalo Bills bid

"n 2014, then-real estate developer and reality TV show star Donald Trump attempted to buy the Buffalo Bills. His bid fell short.

In 2016, Trump, not burdened with the task of owning an NFL team, attempted a run at the presidency. That bid succeeded beyond all but the wildest expectations".

Cohen: Trump ordered him to make 500 threats over 10 years

"WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump ordered his personal attorney to make threats for him about 500 times over the last 10 years, former lawyer Michael Cohen told lawmakers on Wednesday.

During testimony before the U.S. House of Representatives' Oversight Committee, Trump's longtime "fixer" described a boss who was "intoxicating" but also deeply flawed, a "conman" who lied without hesitation".

Did President Trump and his attorneys 'coach' Michael Cohen's false testimony to Congress?

"WASHINGTON — One of the major lines of questioning during Michael Cohen’s six hours of testimony Wednesday before the House Oversight Committee focused on his assertion that President Trump’s “personal lawyers reviewed and edited” a false statement he gave to Congress in 2017. Jay Sekulow, who serves as counsel to the president, responded to the testimony with a statement saying Cohen’s claim was not true".

http://www.yahoo.com/news/president-trump-attorneys-coach-michael-cohens-false-testimony-congress-235256436.html

Cohen saying that his primary job for 10 years was doing all he could to protect the president was doing the exact same thing that the Republicans are doing now was priceless! The irony is remarkable!

The congressional Democrats didn’t really care about what Cohen said, they were after one thing. A paper trail. Once Cohen admitted under oath of checks that were written by trump to Cohen after trump took office, it now allowed Congress to issue subpoenas for bank records. Nothing Cohen said matter, it was just to get him to admit he took checks.

Hillary testified. Trump should testify instead of just calling people names, Tweeting daily that the investigations are a "witch hunt", and hiring and firing lawyers. Testify Donald. If telling the TRUTH is important for the GOP, then WHY HASN"T the GOP, raised concern on Trump's documented constant lying from America's highest Public Office?

Cohen brought to tears by Rep. Cummings at end of House hearing

After spending nearly eight hours testifying about his role as a personal lawyer and fixer for President Trump, Michael Cohen was brought to tears by House Oversight Committee chairman Elijah Cummings at the end of Wednesday’s hearing on Capitol Hill.

How Cohen's testimony threatens the president — and a roadmap to Trump's possible defenses

"The Trump Tower Moscow project
Cohen directly tied Trump to the project to build a lucrative Trump Tower in Moscow, saying that even while running for president in 2015 and 2016, the then GOP candidate asked him on at least a half dozen occasions for updates on the deal. “How’s it going in Russia?” Trump would ask, according to Cohen’s account".

Where the investigations related to President Trump stand

"Cohen on Wednesday cast Trump as a racist and a con man who used his inner circle to cover up politically damaging allegations about sex, and lied throughout the 2016 election campaign about his business interests in Russia".

http://www.yahoo.com/news/where-investigations-related-president-trump-stand-193935230.html

Right now at this point, this man has nothing to lose. With the exception of one thing, his family. This man is about to start a 3-year prison sentence for the part that he took in all this Trump mess. Why would he lie at this point? He's lost everything but his family. Why would he risk lying now? Look at Manafort. Look what is happening to him.

They caught him lying under oath. Amongst other things. Because of it, he will do even more time. The man is 72. He will probably die in prison. Unless the next president decides to have mercy on him. Cohen is 52. Why would he risk any more jail time? He knows if he got caught lying again he very well may be in his 70's or older before he gets out. Manafort is his example.

He's not going to risk lying now. He will be 55 when he gets out. He's going to do that 3 no matter what.

I guess we will see eventually if Cohen turns out to be the noose around Trump's crooked neck.

Donald Trump, Kim Jong Un unable to strike deal, call off nuclear weapons talks early

"HANOI, Vietnam – President Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un failed to strike a nuclear deal Thursday, abruptly ending their highly promoted summit hours early and leaving the fate of North Korea's nuclear weapons up in the air.

"Sometimes you have to walk," Trump told reporters.

While announcing that the talks had broken off, Trump continued to praise Kim, calling him "quite a guy" and said that there still was a lot of "warmth" in their relationship".

Cohen was very nervous in his Testimony during that hearing! I watched live on CBS. Cohen admitted he himself was a lier in the past and committed crimes.
He is remorseful about all he did but yet crimes were Criminal. Like tax fraud.

Congress cannot be sure it's not a lie again, when it comes to his testimony against Trump.

Trump under attack after letting Kim off the hook for Warmbier's death

President Donald Trump faced a bipartisan backlash on Thursday after saying he did not believe North Korean leader Kim Jong Un was responsible for the death of American student Otto Warmbier.

"We must remember Otto, and we should never let North Korea off the hook for what they did to him," Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, who represents the Warmbier family's home state, said in a statement a few hours after Trump completed his second summit with Kim in Vietnam". Trump said on Thursday at a press conference in Hanoi at the conclusion of the summit that he did not hold Kim responsible for Warmbier's death.

Fox News Host Calls Out Rep. Jim Jordan For Cherry-Picking Michael Cohen's Testimony

"Jordan and his fellow Republicans on the committee repeatedly pointed out during the hearing Wednesday that Cohen is facing prison time for pleading guilty last year to several charges, including lying to Congress.

Meanwhile, Democrats used their time to learn more about Cohen’s claim that Trump is a racist “conman” who frequently directed him to lie, including about alleged hush payments to Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal.

“What about the specifics on the ‘hush payments’ as he called them?” Baier asked Jordan. “What was your take on that?”

Jordan danced around the question, noting there wasn’t anything new in Cohen’s testimony and trying to steer the conversation toward what he called Democrats’ “crazy impeachment plans.”

Baier then played a clip of Chris Christie, the former New Jersey governor and failed 2016 Republican presidential candidate, discussing Cohen’s testimony on ABC News.

“There hasn’t been one Republican yet who has tried to defend the president on the substance,” Christie had said. “I think that’s something that should be concerning to the White House.”

Jordan, in response, told Baier that one GOP committee member had questioned Cohen about the legality of the alleged hush payments.

“But the bottom line is, how can you trust anything this individual has to say?” he said.

Baier continued to press Jordan to comment on Cohen’s actual claims instead of attempting to undermine his credibility".

http://www.yahoo.com/huffpost/fox-news-host-calls-rep-143616073.html

What does this sound like? If the Republicans can't attack the substance, they try to attack the messenger.

This is a very sensible criticism. The GOP spent so much time trying to discredit Cohen that they never explored his accusations. To me, that was done for one of two reasons. One, the stuff Cohen said, by and large, was true. It's hard to attack substance when the substance is grounded in cold, hard facts. There is nothing left to do at that point but try to discredit the source--sorta like Donald has done with the media.

The only other explanation is that they were unprepared for the stuff Cohen said. Had this been a court of law and a person gave this kind of testimony, the lawyers would have known he was going to say it long before a hearing got here. Through written discovery and depositions, there isn't too much that comes out in court that everyone doesn't already know is going to come out. This is a little different; this entire situation was meant to be a fact-finding conference and the GOP had no clue what this guy was going to say. I'm sure there is stuff Trump has done that he didn't know about and that maybe some of them do, so it was just a shot in the dark at being prepared to respond to whatever allegations he brought up.

Jim Jordan: Cohen Hearing ‘First Step’ in Dems’ ‘Crazy Impeachment Plans’

"Representative Jim Jordan of Ohio, the ranking Republican on the House Oversight Committee, said Wednesday evening that Democrats called Michael Cohen to testify before the panel in order to set the stage for President Trump’s impeachment".

http://www.nationalreview.com/news/jim-jordan-cohen-hearing-first-step-in-dems-crazy-impeachment-plans/

There was always a hardcore of about 25–30 percent of Americans who stood by Nixon’s consistent throughout the scandal. There were many stubborn Republicans and right-wing media outlets like the National Review that defended him until the evidence became overwhelming. There were grassroots movements by Rabbi Baruch Korff and Reverend Moon of the Unification Church who lashed themselves to Nixon’s cause, attracting thousands, even millions of followers. There were also astroturf movements of letter-writers and phone callers who were run directly out of the White House (a young Karl Rove among them). The GOP party leaders, Hugh Scott in the Senate and John Rhodes in the House, avoided overtly criticizing Nixon or calling for his resignation for fear of alienating the President and the party’s base (sound familiar?). Given all the above it can't be long before we're rid of Dozy Donald.

I thought our politics here in the UK were in a a bad way (Brexit), but after reading the above I think you guys in the US of A are in a far worse state!

I think very few people here in the UK actually like the Trump. If we all had a vote at the next American election, I truly think the Democrats would have a huge majority of English voters. Not sure why that it. Perhaps the Republicans will find some way of saying it's because all the new we get over here is 'fake news'.

Strange how 'fake news' is always used to describe news that puts Trump in a bad light!

That's most of them's go-to excuse. It's either "fake news" or it's Hillary this or Obama that. It's hard to argue with the truth. So, about all they have left is deflection. Watergate ‘Master Manipulator’ Spots What Republicans Didn’t Do During Michael Cohen Hearing

"John Dean, the former attorney for President Richard M. Nixon who was dubbed the “master manipulator” of the Watergate scandal by the FBI, noticed one thing Republican lawmakers didn’t do on Wednesday.

As they questioned Michael Cohen, the disgraced former attorney for President Donald Trump, “ they didn’t defend the president,” Dean told CNN’s Don Lemon". “What they did is attack the witness,” Dean said. “That shows a certain weakness and it also showed a lot of concern by Republicans".

NYT catches Trump in an apparent lie about Jared Kushner's security clearance

"Despite the president’s assurances to the contrary, Donald Trump ordered his former chief of staff John Kelly to grant his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, a top-level security clearance, the New York Times reported Thursday".

http://www.nytimes.com/2019/02/28/us/politics/jared-kushner-security-clearance.html

“No, I don’t think I have the authority to do that,” Trump responded. “I’m not sure I do. But I wouldn’t, I wouldn’t do it. Jared’s a good — I was, I was never involved with his security. I know that he, you know, just from reading, I know that there was issues back and forth about security for numerous people, actually. But I don’t want to get involved in that stuff.”

He sounds like a teenager who didn't finish his homework...or High School in general.

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Using some of his harshest rhetoric in recent memory, President Donald J. Trump came out strongly against intelligence on Wednesday morning.

“I’ve listened to these people with so-called intelligence go on and on, and, quite frankly, it’s a waste of time,” he said. “I know a lot more than people with intelligence do.”

Trump added that he has stopped receiving intelligence briefings at the White House, arguing, “I can do my job without any intelligence whatsoever.”

He said that he has chosen, instead, to seek advice from his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and from his elder children, Ivanka, Eric, and Donald, Jr. “You won’t find a trace of intelligence in anything they say,” he boasted.

At a briefing for the White House press corps, the President’s press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, denied that Trump’s war on intelligence was a new development. “Intelligence has never played a role in Donald Trump’s life,” she said.
