There's a place in Knoxville called "Main Event"..
Bowling, video games, indoor mini golf...foosball/ air hockey..
THAT'S *my* idea of a fun time..... drinker

Sadly, haven't found anyone to go with...

What about joining a bowling team bluegrass? I've been to Knoxville a few times passing through to Florida from Michigan, lovely place.

Any of those activities could have groups that you could sign up with to go with them, that way it'll be more fun and you'll meet people with common interests?

edited in.. I forgot to mention I like to bowl too, and play mini-golf, only I prefer outdoors to indoors happy And yes, it is fun drinker

I bowl too bad to join a league..
The last time my late huband and I bowled..I *barely* cracked 100..
Usually I am in the 50's-60's...sad

I stink at it..but it's still fun.

When you spin the soccer players more than 360 degrees. It is illegal in tournaments.

Yep, me too! It's rare I break 100, but it is fun. I forgot you have to score a decent average to join in.

Too bad they don't have social groups for some of us misfits who don't quite play well but want to play anyways grumble

Now there's a thought... Start a social group, maybe through the library and have group outings like bowling?

Bummer! I've always backed off from doing that sort of thing, but I sometimes wonder if I actually might be good at organizing a social group.

I think you have to be 100% committed though because once you start you gotta keep up with it. My sister and niece started a lego club for children... they're still doing it after a year and a half, but I see their frustration sometimes with wanting someone else to take over.

I must admit, I’m a big kid most of the time. I learned a lot my grandson who is on the spectrum and needed to be taught how to play. So I got down on the floor and went back to my childhood. I think I stayed there.

I used to initiate snowball fights, water fights and so on. I also like to play harmless pranks and all of it brings laughter which is the key.

I did grow up with 7 siblings so there was never a dull moment. We still go to my brothers and use his giant slingshot. Never stop feeling and acting like a kid.

That's cool JBH happy

This past summer I got on a tube behind my son's in-law's boat. I almost said no, I'm 56 years old, can't act like a youngin and do crazy stuff like that slaphead

I got on it anyways and had a blast. Next time though I think I'll just float down a river laugh

Has your grandson adjusted well to playing?

It's been a week now that I've been at the YMCA of the Rockies... looking around today when I went to HR to hand in my doctors release form I started giggling at all the deer wandering around so close to the building. I actually had to stop and let them cross the sidewalk about ten feet in front of me.... I so wanted to play with them laugh

And it hit me... I am in this humongous playground at the YMCA... Holy cow, what a place to be when you need to re-learn how to play!

That was my original reason for coming here, amongst a couple others, but the primary reason was to start enjoying this new life I created for myself. After leaving friends and family, when I got here I was all alone and getting sick with the flu, so I lost sight of all that and wanted to run away and find somewhere else to go.

Talking with management and others today was very nice too, I felt supported and not quite like a failure coming to a new job and not being able to do my best in the first few days... I worked about 10 hours of the 40 I was scheduled for.

I'm thinking I'm exactly where I need to be... for now!

And my hot pot, coffee, and hiking boots just arrived! I'm good! bigsmile

laugh

He is 20 now. At the time, he did learn how to do imaginary play. Now he is a combination of child, teen and adult. Very unique, almost always happy and playful. He has taught me a lot. I think everyone could benefit spending time with someone like him. I see things totally differently since he’s been in my life.

No... It is meant to say have fun what you're doing while you're doing it.

One of the things I used to love doing on my birthday was play miniature golf, and ride the go-karts at a place near where me and my late husband used to live..
Talk about being a big kid...you should've seen my old *** driving around that track , passing all the kids (all under 18).
I was hell on wheels, I tell ya...rofl rofl

I have NO problem doing kid things....if someone thinks it's weird...piss on 'em...

to have fun while making plans for life
not to keep the entertainment away from ourselves.
