Thanks guys! That's what I've been told. The problem is where do I go. I'm not the type to pick-up men. I used to work in a building with 3,000 people. I was out there everyday. No luck... Hi Spotted_One, Break the rules. Dress up your CV, scout for a job outside of your health industry, even if you have wrong qualifications, have money and don't need one. Small businesses for part time work. This routine works in select places. In my experience, one meets right people in unexpected places, I was never ready!!

Go places to do things that you enjoy, be talkative and nice to everyone and chances are someone there with similar interests might just take notice. Yes bars with live music that you enjoy should be an option as well. Good luck!

Sometimes live music can make conversation impossible. I well remember as a teenager having to shout, "What's your name?" and not hearing her answer!

SmartJohn - i agree with you that we do not know where or what we will be in 13 year from now. my oldest daughter died at the age of 33 and here I have lived 75 years. All I know is that my heart and mind are not going to change if I live 1 more hour or 25 more years. I made up my mind when I was 16 I was not going to end up a boring old lady working crossword puzzles and playing Bingo when I am ancient. That is just not ME. it's fine for many others. I had one aunt live to be 100 and dropped dead in her stable while feeding her horse. And another aunt at 104 who went to flea markets and movies with a 70 year old man who adored her. SO....... to each his own.

@nature lady I feel your "pain" I am 10 years younger but I think that we think alike. keep yourself in good shape, dress well, and maintain an open mind. just put yourself out there and see what crops up.

I always was noticed by men in the past. Now, despite being nice looking and a very good person I find myself being ignored most of the time. I don't drink or smoke and don't hang-out in bars. Where does someone like me meet a nice man for dating and possibly more?
