For me it would matter more how you treat your Mom than how much you do or don't do.
When it comes to motivation, I guess some would say I'm not either. I agree with them as far as career wise or competing with the busy world of "let's see who can do the most things in one day", that's not where my motivation lies. Appreciating the cool little things in life and nature, stopping to smell the roses, and helping to brighten someone's day or getting them to smile.... That's where my motivation in life is. Oh, and I don't like working out either. Going on a bike ride or going for a nice walk is about it for me. |

I think earlier in life I was motivated more. motivated to move up the ladder, to succeed. and after that you kind of get a different perspective on things. You realize that there is more to life then work.. and success. And that if you don't change your ways you will miss out on the most important things of all. family, friends, enjoying life.
So, I wouldn't necessarily call it a lack of motivation, more like a recalculation of priorities. I knew a guy who excelled at all expenses. He was rich.. very rich.. big house, cars, wife had money galore, kids went to the best colleges, ect ect. When he died I asked one of his daughters at the funeral to " remember the good times with their father growing up" I never forget what she said. She said.. what good times.. he was never home. He died rich.. but that's about it. there is much more to life then that. |

I'm not really motivated in any way. I live with my mom. ...but Heck, at least I'm honest. Bring it on Sugarplum! Wanna Hook Up? There are plenty of cultures which do not frown upon extended family living together, as long as everyone contributes something. As someone else said, its more about how you treat the family you have/live with I also do not like 'working out', but I do love to dance, which is fortunately great exercise. |

When I was young and healthy I did do calisthenics as a routine. The local rec center had a weight room, basket ball court, trampoline and so on. I played all the sports but played without regulations.
Basketball was "battleball", football was "kill the ballguy" and so on. Roller skating, Ice skating and Swimming. Then, in the service it was PT. Then as a truck mechanic every day was a workout (truck parts are heavy) climbing all over the trucks. I actually miss it now that I can no longer do it. As for being an adult and living with a parent it all depends upon if you are able to maintain a home or you need someone else to take care of you. My home is always open to my children. If they are in a situation they are welcome to live with me but I expect them to make an effort to find their own homes when they are able. Personally, I will die in my own home before I would move to someone else's or a retirement home. My children have offered but I decline because this is my home and they have their homes. They respect my decision. |

You seem to consistently hit it on the head Ms.!
I was (of course) being flippant, but sure do love a lifestyle where movement is part of the M.O.! |

I Hate Working Out Like joggers..they cannot even smile for fear of bugs suiciding on their teeth. I am very motivated not to work out. I should get an award. |

I just can't wrap my head around riding a bike that goes nowhere or climbing stairs without getting to an upper level. Although Colorado has the great hikes I think you'll miss FL like I miss CA where biking and walking everywhere is just part of the MO. |

I think as long as you're happy with who you are and where you are at in life, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks or says, it's your life to live. I think people would be a lot happier if they just lived their own lives and stopped judging others for how they live theirs.
My son still lives with me, he's 26, it works for us right now, he helps pay the bills and do chores, would be a different story if he was a lazy mooch though. As for working out, I probably should get more exercise, for health reasons, but not to fit into society and its standards. |

I prefer flat lands for that. What I mostly meant is that I don't actively plan a work out session. If I get a work out in my every day activities, that's good enough for me. |
