it would be HILARIOUS if one of those 'tricks' was to keep people off of real news by putting out that it is 'fake' or just a 'distraction'... um... i don't think they care about "real" news anymore, since just about everyone knows it isn't real... so the trick works GREAT,,,,lol not a trick anymore, that was 15 years ago... obama burned it out.. |

As I said the other day in another thread, in the UK the activists are now saying they want Nelsons column in trafalgar square taken down due to his use of slavery. You can tare down every statue, monument, government building, every road sign and remove every piece of literature but you will never change history. If they want to live like that then go live with fat boy in nk! I agree with you mike, yet there is some process and some one who decides what is 'worthy' of a statue, why not decisions about which statues are no longer 'worthy'? I can't see how a statue can become "unworthy "msharmony? History hasn't changed has it? Maybe these people should be looking closer to home and get that sorted before worrying about a statue! easy, just choose the opposite of whatever made it 'worthy' if there is a statue of a black person erected during the time of slavery,, should it remain there indefinitely? even after a general concensus is reached that hanging black people is not admirable anymore? there are plenty of issues to be dealt with, and enough people to deal with more than one issue,, simultaneously Or maybe all this is being thrown out there to distract you from what else is happening? that would be my guess... the CIA has lots of little tricks like this to keep other things away from the media... It's done here to, some can see it some can't. Some anti war crazies even tried having war memorials removed a few years ago! As my grandmother would say "it's all a bunch of who shot John"....meaning (where we are from) it a lot of distractions (hokum) |

Ms. Harmony,
My dear friend, that's a mature way of looking at it. Yes its our city decision. Maybe this will open up dialogue to discuss other city's monuments that people don't feel its represents them and there communities. Gold star baby girl. |

Good point iam, but would the same people attending these meetings to discuss a statue be attending a meeting about homeless or jobless people? I doubt it as it wouldn't look good on them if they kicked off! |

As my grandmother would say "it's all a bunch of who shot John"....
Maybe she meant "who shot JR"? This obsession of removal is spilling over the border, they've been removing plaques, statues and now they want Sir John A MacDonald off of everything? the terrorists don't like history. |

YellowRose,
Well think about this if Adolf Hitler had a statue in your city, would you would want that to be displayed? Some may say Hitler wasn't as bad as people would make him out to be, ask the white hate groups. Well on a smaller scale Rizzo was our Philly Mayoral dictator. Alright to all the people think I'm villianizing him I give you some so-called positives people said he done for everyone. Key Points ( His Good ) * Stu Bykofsky says in an interview, " Their knowledge of Rizzo is secondhand, coming mostly from liberals talking drums & those who dispies him. Like the write who described the Rizzo statue outside Municiple Services Building as giving fascist salute, as if that remotely possible. Rizzo is not giving the Nazi salute he's actually waving. *Dispassionate conversation about Frank Rizzo is impossible. Anything positive said about him is denounced as " racist" by those who either weren't alive when he was in power (Black activist Asa Khalif) or didn't live here when he was alive said by City Council Helen Gym. * Here's the big kicker, it was said what his detractors don't say according to Stu, horrible , racist Rizzo is that as mayor he entrusted his life to his two African American security men. Tony Fulwood & Jimmy Turner. He had black supporters, especially among antidrug & anti antigang activist, such as Novella Williams. These things get overlooked because of his actual problems with segments of the black community , often because of members of his police force. |

Why wasn't this all happening during Obama? Why wasn't this all done before now? |

Thanks Eyeam, see there is nothing really wrong with people protesting, they close streets of in London to, for safety and to protect property. that is right I think, they have a right to protest, they don't have a right to cause damage, loot or hurt people!
