you have to do it from the internet, from another site...

right click on the pic, click on "copy image location"

then type in your response [*img][*/img] and paste it between them, and do not use the "*", i just added them to show you how to do it...

click on reply to this, and you'll see how i posted this pic...

Hi EyeAm,

The Help Forum has a section that tells you how to do this. Here's the link:

https://mingle2.com/topic/199646

When you have the image you want, right click on it and click on "view image". Use that URL between the brackets in the instruction.

Hope this helps!

Unfortunately, you can't delete history, well, it would take about 100 years. you'd have to firstly get rid of any evidence, statues etc, then destroy any literature, film etc and then stop teaching it completely lastly, you'd have to ban people from talking about it and spreading it. The last object is the mind. Once the people who remember history have gone then it will be totally erased!

i always thought it is about what you're taught as kids... seems it could be as little as a generation or to, and history as they know is set...

Possibly yes. I was just going on the theory that it would have to run the life span of the last person taught, so your right, maybe 50 years?

we tend to live closer to one hundred in my family,, my dad had the youngest death at 76

That means you'll be reminding us of confederacy for another 50 years? surprised

haaa, not me friend

I dont erect or protest statues or flags, they dont mean that much to me

but , as long as southerners have confederate flags and statues,,or Americans reference the 'founding fathers', I will probably still be referencing slavery that existed during that same period as well,,,,

They don't mean that much to you?
So if you came over to the UK/France or Belgium and walked past a statue honouring some of the millions that died so you can have a view it wouldn't mean anything to you?

basically,, I am not sentimental about 'stuff',, that much
in my experience, they rarely 'stand' for the exact same thing to everyone

I could respect what the natives told me it 'stood for', though,,

Fair one so the argument is settled!
Every statue means something to someone so there for they can stay!
No one has the right to tell the next person how they feel!

EyeAmYourHost39,

America the statue you see posted by my good voicer MightyMoe is the talk of my city right now. In the Philly News the editor want us in the city give suggestions to what we would like to see the statue go. I posted a edit reply on Philly News maybe they should move the statue with the people who support him the most. why not move the statue inn the Italian American Museum. Or use it as a movie prop.

agreed msharmony, but you can't have taxes pay for one and not the other. Probably not funded by the government to upset anyone, just it's part of history and they need to keep it going?

Msharmony, Eyeam,
My posts are as an outsider, a different view if you like. I've learnt more about American history /politics from the forums than anywhere before so when I post it's just an opinion and none biased happy

Thats the thing with voting, you are GUARANTEED to pay taxes for 'one and not the other' based upon how the vote for 'one' comes out compared to the vote for the 'other'

This is where democracy falls down. It should be irrelevant who's in power, it's done here. You may have a conservative government but the local council (government ) could be labour, so they cut things that create the most outrage!

I think it is where you will have any government 'fall'

it is the huge responsibility to represent millions of individuals, which can never be done , since millions of individuals have different priorities, interests, and concerns,,,,

and it is a huge risk to allow mob rule where the only requirement is a true 'majority', because it nearly guarantees the minority next to no representation even though they have all the same civic duties and expectations placed upon them,,,,

but I do believe it is the best system there is so far,,,,

It is the best system, but increasingly the losers are not playing the game! In theory, they should accept the outcome and do there best to cooperate after all, they loose out to if it fails!
Anyway, what we going to do about statues? I say they should be left as a reminder of the past.
