Topic: outsiders with a clearer point of view

most of the time when we are inside a problem, issue, or situation we tend to be subjectives.
when we see things from other perspective, it's easier to see things from different angles.
the important thing is not to be close minded.
now the with the internet we have broken the boarders because we can get together in a place regardless of our nationalities, and we are free to give out opinions in any issue, including internal politics in different countries.
now when the forum in which we are gathered is based in a specific country we understand that the majority of the poster belong to that country, now that does not mean that the opinions of the outsiders lack of value.
then is when we need to learn how to respect everybody's opinions regardless their origins.
we don't need to call names and be derogatory towards them, for instance calling somebody a "retarded"
so let's reanalyze our positions.

Thankyou Miguel....

I cannot count how many times I have been told to mind my own business, as I am not from that country...It can be difficult to be objective when emotionally attached, or involved in a topic.

Another pair of eyes, and another view can be of use when sharing thoughts...and looking for solutions.

the opinion of the outsider is the most valuable because it is novel and interesting.

We are indeed "WORLD Citizens" one no different or less responsible than the other. Only separated goegraphically.
And I am finding that the outsiders in these posts have a greater insight into American problem issues than we do. Sometimes a distant prespective is soooo valuable, and sooo much clearer.

The way I see it:

This is an international forum, so everything you post is been seen by people all over the world. So if you don't want people from all over the world to respond, you should not post in the first place.
And since it is against the rules to post threads to the exclusion of others, meaning, you can't tell them to shut up, they have a right to be there.
So, if you post American issues that you deem unfit for others to respond to, don't post them.
I'm quite tired of seeing a new illegal immigrant post every day.
I'm quite tired of the name calling that's going on in there.
And it is so simple, you don't want us to comment, keep it to yourself.

Ghost...Vis...In my opinion; outside views sometimes see what we do not.
Kinda like blind love...we do not see something amiss, when someone else will?
I for one...appreciate the input of all. All...All....

Opinions are like ar5eh0les ... everyone has one. Some stink, some dont, it all depends on the direction of the wind.

----

You cannot expect everyone to agree on an opinion. Otherwise it wouldnt be an opinion, it would be fact.

... and there are certainly some opinions on here that not fact. Because they are personal.

My view on the colour purple is different to other people's

I thought it was a cr4p film, but it still won an oscar.

Those two statements also highlight the fact that with no body language or intonation, the reader can sometimes totally mistake what is being said, and miss the point entirely.

There is a lack of tolerance for people with differing views.

We (in the UK) had two men, who are reviled by a lot of people for their opinions, speak at the very auspicious Oxford Debating Society meeting.

One of these men is a Nationalist and is happy in his views on British supremacy, wants all non British passport holders kicked out and is a National Socialist.

The other denies that the Holocaust existed. (and has spent time in jail fo saying it)

The topic that these men were debating was "Freedom of Speech"

They were derided and denounced, but they are still entitled to their opinion.

The debate was actually very good, and neither of these men resorted to politicking.

So letting people say what they have to say is ok, but you have to be prepared for the consequences of your words.

So being called retarded and dumb for having a different opinion could just show up the insulter for who he/she is. someone who cannot raise their debating style from the bar-room environment and cannot debate without resorting to insults.

maybe the outsider

should accept the fact

that they are just that

an outsider

But there is no such thing in a global family.

Why should they accept it anyway.

If you do not dilute the gene pool, you get stunted emotional growth and intellectual retardation.

People who live in insular communities (island people or rednecks), are ridiculed for marrying their sister or their cousin, because it doesnt advance the species.

Its needed to proliferate.
