Topic: Since Women Are Always Right Did I say that? Yeah I think I did... lol ....but..a doormat of a man AND an argumentative man are BOTH unattractive.... wherein lays the balance? A doormat of a man? A lame duck is very unattractive. An argumentative man? If a man want to argue about everything under the sun, that would drive me crazy. The balance lays on respect towards each other as a couple. A woman respects her man to have an opinion but not opinionated and to be able to express that opinion in a non-argumentative fashion. A man should respect the fact that his woman may not be always right but he loves her anyway. Let little things go... stop arguing about nothing. It's not worth it. My two cents. |

It MUST be time for introspection because I have been reminded on numerous occasions (not even necessarily romantically based) that women are always right. I think you need to consider the source - no one is always right. (Sounds like the people that are telling you that may have their own issues - either that or they're yanking your chain!) |

I don't understand the fuss.
If we're always right, you don't argue, you just nod eagerly and say "Yes ma'am!" |

I don't understand the fuss. If we're always right, you don't argue, you just nod eagerly and say "Yes ma'am!" See, that wasn't so difficult now, was it?! NOw just keep doing that for the rest of your life, and Bob's your uncle. |

Nobody likes a door mat.. nobody, especially women.
Women want a good man, a fair man but one who speaks his mind.. to anyone... including his mate. Don't get me wrong.. a smart man knows when to shut his mouth.. but he also knows when to lay down the law. |

....but..a doormat of a man AND an argumentative man are BOTH unattractive.... wherein lays the balance? It took me too long for my own good to work this out, but maybe I can help you. The trick is, to realize that you do NOT want to "find the balance point" between these (and other) confusing and seemingly contradictory concerns and ideas. The reality of it all is, that most of the terse simplified statements people make to us, such as "don't be a doormat" while at the same time, "be sensitive and supportive of her wants," have been been OVER simplified. The reason they don't fit together in a cohesive, understandable way, is that they are incomplete. And they are incomplete, because reality is much more complicated than short statements can convey. And there are always a LOT more than two possibilities involved. Take the "don't be a doormat" thing for example. That's an extremely oversimplified way of saying "don't pretend to be willing to do anything at all that she wants, so that you can fool her into thinking that you are just what she's looking for." What it does NOT mean, is "women prefer men who slap them in the face and give them orders." Most PEOPLE, want as a mate, someone who is basically compatible to start with. That way, it isn't a lot of work all the time, to make small adjustments in order to make life together reasonably fun. If you act like a doormat, she wont have any idea at all who you really are, so there's no point in trying to figure out if you ARE compatible. And if you are so aggressive about your personal tastes and desires that you take things to the opposite extreme, she'll be SURE that you both aren't compatible, AND that you will never make adjustments to allow for that good fit between you. |
