Topic: Little things that make you happy | |

Not sure if we've had something like this before.
What little things make you happy? This morning a little old Lady in a shop saw me following behind her to the exit, she held the door for me for about 3 seconds, until I got to the door, simple but a nice gesture. |

My mate writes me notes from the dog:
"I ruv you Mommy, ruff ruff, can I have ice cream?" |

Similarly, kindness from strangers.
Also the beginning of the fall season here in the US. Fall colors: rich red, orange brown leaves emerging on trees. Fall scents: caramel, pumpkin spice, cardamom, cinnamon, maple! Halloween and Dia de los Muertos decorations already starting to show up in stores. September-October is my favorite time of year for these reasons. |

When I wake up in the morning...the first thing I do, is to look out of the window.
The day seem brighter than yesterday. Birds are singing. Even the trees and grass look greener. It is like you are seeing these for the first time.Life is beautiful. I live a simple life but I am happy. To be able to enjoy simple thing in life is a blessing itself |

Many things. Babies, puppies, children laughing and my kids doing chores because it needs to be cleaned not because I made them

People holding hands.
The power of a prayer. Kids smiling. Being there for someone in need and help the best I can, when I can, makes me happy. |

Dirt.
The smell and texture of it. That might be a weird one, But it does it for me. |

Some nice answers
I like it when you let someone out of a junction while driving and they kinda wave in appreciation, it's nothing I know but I proper fume if they don't. On a side note, so many answers from females, it's reassuring to men like me, to know that little things can make ladies happy |

My mate writes me notes from the dog: "I ruv you Mommy, ruff ruff, can I have ice cream?" Soufie! You lucky girl! This is one of the sweetest things I ever heard Now let's see ... What are the little things that made me happy, Little daily practices like showering, listening to music , getting up after a good sleep Nature makes me really happy from the rain, to the beach to the moon and stars Kindness of strangers to each other from stopping the car to let someone cross , to opening doors for each other, to warm greetings and a smile :) Little kids laughing and playing People who say thank you for any kindnesses rendered. Oh ... and I LOVE it when people are kind to service workers from the waiters to the sanitation workers to the car park attendants. That makes me smile from ear to ear This is a lovely thread Joe |

Joe, I'm glad my holding the door for you this morning made you happy... but... but... did you have to call me "a little old lady"? ... geesh |

The little things like when someone at a store holds the door for me because I always try to hold the door for the next person behind me or if I am leaving and someone is coming in I will hold the door for them. Also, the last time I went to the grocery store I only had a couple items and the lady in front of me had a cart load and she told me to go a head of her. She didn't have to do it, but it was such a polite gesture. Just simple polite manners can mean a lot to people and to me.
