Why do some older guys dating younger women have a tendency to think we (the younger women) don't know what we are doing????? I know there are older guys who date younger women that don't do that, but still. Guys, if you're considerably older than the girl ya with.....WE ARE INTELLIGENT CREATURES. Please treat us as such.

I never had a problem with that. I had younger girlfriend and I always treated them with love and respect. I never force them to do anything she didn't want to do. they learn from me and I learn from them.

I actually would prefer younger guys(no like a 20 year difference thing) Being only 19 years old though makes it tough since the youngest I could go is 18 haha.

I see myself as very intelligent when dealing with guys - regardless of age. I know what I'm looking for and what to look out for. I don't think being young is an excuss to be dumb.

I don't think it's a matter of treating us like we're not intelligent. I just think it really makes them feel good to be a "teacher". I say if it's offensive let him know how he's making you feel. He may not even know he's doing it. Otherwise, if you don't mind be "taught" a few things, just stroke his ego and let him show you how to do a few things or give you a little advice. It probably makes him feel needed and worthy of being with someone much younger. He might be feeling insecure and like he needs to prove he's got something good to offer.

Okay. In all seriousness, I feel that most men want to dominate a woman, and they feel they can with a younger woman. The reasons vary. But I feel it comes down to one thing...control.

Personally, I am not opposed to dating a younger woman as long as she is not immature. And I do not think just because I am older means I know more. I mean, I guess realistically, I should. But I just don't believe that.

Not all younger women are so damn smart in fact, some of them are way too immature and still in "party mode". Of course the younger women will probably disagree but wipppeeee!

To be fair though, I've dated younger and older and the same can be said about some of the older women. They can also be immature dopes sometimes and in some cases even worse than the younger ones.

I would never treat a younger woman like she wasn't intelligent. I used to think age was important now I've come to realize it's just a number. Any woman I become involed with I will treat with respect because the relationship woul be a partnership not a dictatorship. I'm hoping that any lady I become will keep me from making bonehead decisions (crud I cant spell this is waht happens when we depend on spell check LOL) because it would be decided by her and I.

In my relationship with an 11 year difference in age, I enjoyed my guy having the benefit of a few more years under his belt. He could empathize with some life things I was experiencing. But I taught him a lot of things in other areas. All give and take. Hopefully we are always learning from others.
