i can face what i fear with more bravery, defiance, and impetuousness than that which i dread might come after... thoughts? Real courage is living with the consequences after the deed is done and not trying to end your life because it's "Too hard to continue to live." |

i can face what i fear with more bravery, defiance, and impetuousness than that which i dread might come after... thoughts? Whenever I have been able to face a predicament with adequate courage, I have not experienced dread regarding the ensuing incidents that would get triggered as a consequence..Future is uncertain; however, that is what it has been, in a 'few' occasions that have taken place in my life, in the past! |
|

In 'general', I feel it just might be a basic human psychology, that when someone is able to muster enough courage to deal with an arduous situation, then that level of courage seems to be (or become) 'powerful & capable' enough to 'handle not only 'that' particular ordeal; but the 'aftermath' too..!
I hope I could express myself vividly (was never gifted with the gift of the gab, as 'they' say...Whatever..!) |

thoughts? I don't understand this. You can face what you fear easier than you can face what you dread...which is just more fear? So, you can face what you fear easier than you can face what you greatly fear. ...Okay. |

So, you can face what you fear easier than you can face what you greatly fear. ...Okay. alright, oh great dissector of posts... for the sake of conversation... FEAR vs DREAD Fear is an emotional response that humans experience when confronted with some potentially harmful or dangerous object or situation. Whereas dread is often interpreted as "anxiety" -- refers to the spiritual anxiety one experiences in the face of one's own freedom. BRAVERY vs COURAGE Bravery is the ability to confront pain, danger or attempts of intimidation without any feeling of fear. It is strength in character that allows a person to always be seemingly bigger than the crisis, whether he is indeed more powerful or is lesser than what he is tackled with. Courage, on the other hand, is the ability to undertake an overwhelming difficulty or pain despite the eminent and unavoidable presence of fear. More than a quality, it is a state of mind driven by a cause that makes the struggle all worth it. Unlike in the case of bravery, a person fueled by courage may feel inevitably small in the face of peril, pain or problems. The essence of courage is not the feeling of being certainly capable of overcoming what's one is faced with, but rather is the willful choice to fight regardless of the consequences. |

Being aware of and realistic about the possible consequences of non action gives me the courage to take action no matter how much effort I must devote, no matter how much pain I must endure, no matter how much 'judgement' from others I risk....To do nothing is the greatest failure of all...

it's hard to navigate a boat on two rivers of no return what if you did not have adequate courage yet? time is of the essence I failed to understand the 'underlying essence' of the 'bold & italicized' statement above. Could you please elaborate further (or) you may cite another example (whichever is 'convenient' for 'you').. |

Could you please elaborate further (or) you may cite another example (whichever is 'convenient' for 'you').. picture a winding water system...you are navigating the boat...it flows then forks repeatedly just near enough each other that you can see what's on the other side of the dividing island... in fact it even intersects at certain points, flowing the same general direction...until you reach one that forks so widely, they flow in opposite directions.... |

I bet it's 4:20 somewhere....Sorry Pansy, j/k ...Back on topic though, if one has been paying close attention as they travel the river's path, wouldn't one have a pretty good 'feeling' about which fork to take?...

All of which reminds me of this:
Picture yourself in a boat on a river With tangerine trees and marmalade skies... Lucy in the sky with diamonds Ahh ahhh |

Imagine how much fun id be if it were really 4:20.. |

i can face what i fear with more bravery, defiance, and impetuousness than that which i dread might come after... thoughts? We need to have the courage of our own convictions in my opinion, overcoming the fear of both what we are faced with and any consequences of our actions, to be too afraid to act achieves nothing. This is just my interpretation and thoughts. |
