I'm good...If I knew then what I know now too many blessings (like my beautiful daughter for instance) would have passed me by...I made, and still make, my fair share of mistakes and they keep me humble and make me try harder the next time...

If I could of looked through a chistal ball and seen down the roan in my life. I would of not got married at age 20 to my husband. I was not able to have children with him and plus he caught a virus
and passed away 20 years later so now Iam starting all over again.
Sometimes I Feel like my life was a waste. lol But I know that not true.

nothing is a waste of time until seen in hindsight!

I have thought about this since you first posted this. I have thought and thought about it. I don't think I would change anything in my life, I have lived, loved, laughed, cried, made some huge mistakes and yet for each mistake I made there was something precious that came out it.


I think if I had anything to tell that 20 year old would be, Savour each moment, the time will pass more quickly than you can imagine. [

wow sitkaRains that was a cool statement. Yes when we are young we think our life for ever until you turn 50 and you start saying if only I could start over again.

That my high school sweetheart wasn't going to remain my sweetheart for life. Twenty is still quite a naive age. It's funny how it's supposed to be adulthood. I wasn't convinced that I was a fully-grown adult at only twenty. And just because we receive a key, with an age certificate, once we turn eighteen, and twenty one, it still makes me shudder, because each individual grows at different rates.

WELLLLLL...I'll be a 'Debby Downer' and say:

If I'd known how much all that physical activity {sports & team roping} would do to my joints...I would have changed the amount of time that I spent doing all that activity!

My numerous broken bones/sprained joints and now arthritis has aged my skeleton structure rapidly!

I can remember my freshman year and we gals were so frustrated that our basketball team was only allowed to have 2 members access to full court - that � of the team played only � court {offense/defense}!
Ya, figure that out --- the full court press changed with the National High School League rules by my Sophomore year and all of our girls team got to play 'FULL COURT'.

Played Catcher Position-fast pitch: 4 yrs grade school softball - 4 yrs high school - 2� yrs college softball = my knees are shot! There's a reason that my mother's generation are better ambulatory then most of my generation --- they didn't play rugged sports - it wasn't allowed.

I should have said "no" more often. I should have banked more cash when it was coming in so easily. Could have used it to leverage an empire much sooner and retired 10 years ago, at 41. Could have had a bigger beach house.

Then again, some choices led to amazing adventure, even if I did just get out still breathing. Part of success is learning through failures and coming back stronger from the experience. Advice offered, but not asked for, especially when I was 20-something, would have gone in one ear and out the other. Probably should have listened a bit sooner, too hard-headed is my excuse.

Go for the degree that you love enough to finish.
Any degree, no matter how impractical, is worth more than 120+ college credits and no degree to show for it.
It's far easier to tack on a second degree rather than play the transfer credit game. Plus unlike the credits, a diploma will never expire.

Enjoy life don't be in a hurry to settle down.
Career , travel and but most of all stay in touch with family.

On an unrelated note. I have the exact opposite opinion of the 'should have listens to my parents' thing.

My life would have been a lot happier if I had been secure enough to follow my dream. And the same is true for my EX and my best friend of 20 years. All three of us (and we grew up in 3 different states)were 'good kids' who had above average IQs but lacked parental support and/or understanding. Following our parents wished had a significant negative and long lasting impact on our lives.
