I'm curious to how people think about giving out their cell phone number on a first contact message. If someone sent you a first contact message. At least a paragraph about themselves. And then offered their cell phone number for you to text them, Would you do it? I'm expecting the women to say no. I don't know about the men. i get enough spam in my email and mail box , i dont want it on my cell as well(all ready get enough from computers calling me) <face palm> its one thing if we have been chatting for a while and i get an idea about the person but if they go right away want my cell or email its a big turn off smells to much of scammer funny how fast i can get rid of someone emailing me just by saying i would never send money lol catch me if you can : ) Amen to that. I really don't need the pathetic folks that want to suddenly be attached at the hip by blowing up my phone like some kind of electronic pacifier. Thankfully at least on cell phones it is really easy to block the dumbasses that want to call and wake you up drunk dialing or self pleasure by sexting. |

Way to many people give their personal information and numbers out freely and I think that's a mistake. Just my observation. There's plenty of good advice, but no quantity of advice magically generates the connection between two people. It's a choice people have to make. The best thing to do is always be cautious. Both, men and women. Safety and privacy comes first. : Good topic. Op |

not on a first contact message.
unless maybe you are talking about someone you know from the forums and maybe there is a special reason. |

Too many guys give me their phone# and email on very first message. I never ever call or write. Usually they want to text. How much can you say in a text to a complete stranger? I'd rather send messages for at least a little while.

I definitely would advise females especially to be careful with that!

that's easy,, as I'm pretty old school, I don't even own a cell phone
I don't want to be accessible 24/7. If I'm not at home , near the land line,, I'm out doing something that I don't wish to be interrupted with phone calls,,, so,,,no, I don't give out what I don't have,,, |

I applaud you!!! I'm kinda "new age old school"...have a cell phone, but leave it at home when I go out. Also never carry a wallet or ID on me...don't like stuff in my pockets. |
