Topic: the change from sabbath to Sunday biblical or not? | |
---|---|
Jesus (Yeshua) was not "mixed up" on what day was the Sabbath.
Luke 4: And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. Others in the Bible were not "mixed up" either: Act 15:21 For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day. Act 16:13 And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither Act 18:4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks. Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: When Jesus... the creator ... the "Bet" in Hebrew. All of you look here: http://www.bible.ort.org/books/torahd5.asp note the first letter is a big Bet...all of the Torah is coming out of the Bet John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. Back to Sabbath When Jesus (Yeshua) returns...no one will be "confused" about when the Sabbath is: Ezek 46:12 Now when the prince shall prepare a voluntary burnt offering or peace offerings voluntarily unto the LORD, one shall then open him the gate that looketh toward the east, and he shall prepare his burnt offering and his peace offerings, as he did on the sabbath day: then he shall go forth; and after his going forth one shall shut the gate. |

Eph 2:8-15
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; |

Christ was here since Joshua. He would have taught his apostles which day is the Sabbath. From what I read, the jews have been keeping it since then. The Sabbath is from sundown to sundown, not just part of a day.

If you have a relationship with him it will be everyday.

I think you are confusing worshiping G-d (which can certainly be done everyday) with obeying His command to rest and have one specific day to come together as a community and congregation to praise and worship Him and rest in Him. Since He created us to be social He gave us a weekly time to gather just as He gave us specific times to party, celebrate, remember and somberly reflect.
He does not change and while He may not have needed to rest He knows that the fragile bodies we have do need to rest and relax and recharge with Him in the company of others. His laws do not change either so the Sabbath is still to be honored and kept just as He instructed us to. It is from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday. Just a few thoughts on the subject. Shalom, Dani. |

The Sabbath is indeed Saturday. As the Bible states the evening and the morning is one entire day. The evening starts a new day, then the day follows. God specifically set the Sabbath on the 7th Day of the week, which we today call Saturday. The day of rest was never changed from the 7th day to first day it was man who did that, but GOD word is alive today. People are being awaken to the truth about the correct day of worship, fellowship, rest, unity and family. The Sabbath is the 7th day of the week.

I have no idea what sabbad is, maybe a Saturday according to Jews, some day of Worship??. But being a Muslim man i know that we Muslims worship to 1 true God, Allah alone. And the word Allah is even mentioned in old testament as Eloh-him. Elohim is a Hebrew word and Allah is an Arabic word and Hebrew and Arabic are both sister languages. However, we Muslims deny to share any deity or any one with the 1 true God. For example we would never say Jesus is God or son of God. rather we would say Jesus is messenger of God. Like wise we believe Moses was the messenger of God as well. So after believing in 1 true God we strictly prohibit from polytheism. You may disagree with me though. And we believe all three semetic and Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) have same motive to believe in one true God. The only different is people have added or subtracted things into Judaism and Christianity so the obedience to people got into it otherwise the religion with Jesus (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came and with Moses (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came was just like the Islam is to believe in one true God. So we worship the God (Allah) alone. The question may arise how can i say that Islam is not being tempted. The answer is Allah has Himself promised to take care of scripture of Islam. So the scripture of Islam is not tempted yes you may say some of Muslims may not be following true Islam but it does not mean that Islam has faults, rather it means the fault was in that Muslim himself. But as compared to that Bible of Christians and Jews both are tempered with and added and subtracted with. As we know that new testament was in Hebrew which was then converted to Greek and then transferred again into Hebrew, and once a human hands are touched to scripture they are bound to get tempered with. |

Itis easy to see witch day the Sabbath day is in our time. Just see which day the Jews go to their snoa till now.

There is a big problem today with worshiping. The Bible is clearly with this end Times days. Today all Christians supposed to reached the Three Angels Message, but they couldn't. Why? Because it is only for the truth Christians. And the are: Revelation 14:12.

Hi to all the friends here. Now how much do we know about this are we obedient to the command of God or are we following the command of men? Which is the true day of Godly worship? Jews, Muslim's, worship God on sabbad, Catholic's and the rest, worship on Sunday. There can only be one day for worship. According to the bible.set a side by God.? ********************************************* It is considered a great mitzvah and responsibility to honor the Sabbath by lighting candles 18 minutes before sunset on Friday evening, till the sunset the next day.... ( Mind also the fact that timing is different wherever we may live ) And we, all God's children SHOULD obey and follow god's commandment/s by keeping the SABBATH. Regardless of being a Christian, Muslim, or Jew, so on and on. AFTER ALL, AREN'T WE ALL THE same DESCENDENTS OF ABRAHAM?? Now!! This unique commandment, SHABBOS or SHABBAT, is entrusted to the Jewish woman, is rich, with meaning and purpose. For us Jews, we usher in the peace and sanctity of Shabbat by lighting candles every Friday evening and on the eve of Jewish holidays. The candles bring peace into our homes and add light and warmth to a world that sometimes feels dark and cold. SHALOM. |

I do not think the day of the week is the point of Sabbath, honestly
I just feel we are to work six days and work the seventh during biblical times their culture worked six days and rested on the seventh, it is the pattern that makes it Sabbath, not the name of the day in our times, our general first day of work is monday, making our seventh day Sunday but even if one worked, tuesday through sunday and rested monday, they would be living by the commandment to rest on the seventh day I doubt God is hung up on mans calendar, or the names of our days ... |

That can work too, as long as we rest for one day. On the 7th day, whatever day may be for some. The purpose of it is deeper and should clear many doubts, and/or help heal the minds, especially humans, of stress as example. For some, REST can heal bodies, souls or minds But look at it from a different view. No 7 has also a deeper multiple meaning from god's point of desire for humans & purpose. Take Agricultural for example. Good farming land is the one who is cultivated for 6 years, and given a rest for one year. That makes 7 years. Peace. |
