Actually would like to add that your header should've been "how do women cope". Having your period is part of being woman, part of our femininity and our ability to bring forth new life after a man has created it in us.
If a man cannot respect that for 4-7 days ... It shouldn't be like you have to feel guilty for not being able to please him. It part of our cycle, the cycle of life, that should be honoured by both. It shouldn't be a problem when a woman doesn't want to have sex during her period. |

There are 2 different types of 'tampons' you can use during your period that allow you to be intimate without it getting messy. One is a type of dome that you put over the cervix, the other is a foam type of tampon. Don't know the English names for them. The dome can be left in place for up to 8 hours. I prefer that over the foamy thing, which I found difficult to remove. So ... there's no need for things to get messy and no need to refrain from being intimate during your period, other than you not feeling like it. ![]() Wouldn't it be dangerous to have penetration with a tampon in? You say it's foam? I've never heard of that. Oh and do you mean a femidon? I think I've spelled that wrong, I never thought of that. Wouldn't that be awkward to get in, because I have a tilted womb?? No, femidom is a condom for women. What I mean is specially made designed to use during your period so you can be intimate. The tampon doesn't have the normal shape of a tampon. It's called a tampon as it absorbs, but the shape is totally different, not string either. It works really well. Just that I prefer the dome. Nothing dangerous about it, it's made for this purpose. THe dome, don't think it would be a problem. It just basically collects, so it sits over your cervix. Don't think it makes any difference whether your uterus is tilted or not. There's more women who got that and don't even know it. I'll see if I can find the name of both the tampon and dome. |

Mine is very tilted, they did stitch it up in my pelvis but that failed. |

Don't think a regular shop would have 'em, not in the remote area I live in anyways. You usually can order just the 1 cup / wet tampon as well, so you can try and see if it works for you. |

And the medical name of my coil is called a mirena coil, it has hormones in it, that's stops bleeding in most women. And I highly doubt you tilted her womb |

(I'll forgive your misspelling ![]() I have never had a problem of being intimate with my lover during her menstrual cycle. In my experience, it is during the time prior to her cycle, that she tends to want sex more. This is recognized in scientific literature as an effect of hormonal changes. I find the physical changes to be appealing. It was actually after my child's mother completed her cycle that we chose to conceive our child. ![]() |

I prefer to just wait its a part of life that men have to accept.

I would never put anything up there or take birth control pills or any of that nasty stuff that women do to themselves or doctors tell them to do. And as for sex during my period I will usually argue against it, unless he really wants to, I usually don't, because it's messy and it feels more sensitive and not in a good way. It's more painful because of bloating and cramping, why would I want more pain? Occassionally, I have done it because the guy really wanted to, but he had to be careful not to hurt me and not to make a mess, and hurry it up...On the lighter days then it's a little more appropriate if you take a shower before and after, you need more showers then..basically it can be more of an annoyance at that point, nothing seriously wrong with it.

Sex while on period can hurt because of more chance for internal bruising due to swelling/bloating. I've found that blood is not the best fluid for sex, it's rather thin and dries fast, ouch..also any lubricant is warm at that location.
