... women.. do you like it when your date orders off the menu for you..?
. or do you tell your date what you are going . to have.. and then let him. inform the waitress or waiter..for you.? or do you just order yourself..? .. and the wine tasting... do you want him.. do you want him to decide.. or would you like to taste for yourself..? |

No point in passing on what you would like to order to
your companion, they never remember, or get it all wrong. I prefer ordering me own chow. No wine :-) |

Hmm.. this is true..^^.. I like discussing the menu with my date..
.. what she likes what she doesn't like.. .. we agree on an appetizer.. or two depending... if she likes something else.. this way we share... and I always. place her order for her.. after she tells me what she would like.. it shows that I am listening... and paying attention...... and how can you not like wine...lol.. |

I don't drink the likker for no other reason than the nasty taste. But, if a guy can remember, actually listened, that would be cool if he ordered. And got it right :-) |

hmmm yes, after discussing with her....i tell the waiter...she'll have the filet mignon, medium rare, with a bottle of your best red wine and i'll have the
pig knuckles with tater-tots and an ice-cold pitcher of Budweiser.... |

I'm ok letting him place my order and I'm ok placing it myself...As for the wine, that's totally up to him cause, like Soufie, I never really developed a taste for liquor... |

If it's a proper dinner date I will tell him what I want. But I think I sort of go with the flow. I've been in so many posh places, and it doesn't always go that way, sometimes the waiter addresses the woman after he took the guy's order, so I play it by ear.
The wine .. I'm not really into wine either, I prefer sweet wine, like any amateur wine drinker .. I do drink wine when out for dinner .. if it's red wine, I won't drink it till I've had something to eat, so I won't be under the table, literally, before we've had appetizers .. |

Discussing the menu... "No problem! Check!"
Discussing the bill... "Great meal! Ok, I'll see you in the car!" |

no I would not prefer you choke it down..lol. Oh I could do so many things with this right now..lmao..
. but I'll stay on topic..lol .. I usually ask.. if my dinner date likes wine or not... my dinner dates go as follows.... I pick her up from her place.... if it is our third date...lol.. .. we make small talk on the ride to the restaurant.. how is your day how are your kids if you have any... work related issues.... upcoming events... we arrived at the restaurant... I check my reservations... with the hostess station... we follow the waiter or waitress to our table.. now I generally take the seat.. that is less visible to everyone at the restaurant... giving you.. the seat.. so that everyone in the restaurant can ..see what a beautiful woman I I am lucky to be dining with this evening.. .. I will ask you what you would prefer to drink... because usually I like to have a cocktail before dinner... I will pass your drink selection on to the waiter.... and then we discuss the menu together.... I will suggest appetizers.. French onion soup.. escargot... if I have eaten here before.. I will make recommendations.. like yes.. the steak Neptune.. it's rather delish.... .... once you have decided on your.. entre.... I usually then suggest a wine to pair it with... if you would prefer some other alcoholic beverage... I generally will follow in suit... leaving the wine in the wine cellar.. dessert I'll leave that up to the lady... if she would like dessert.. I generally will order her second favorite pic... for myself.. thus wise ,we could have a little bit of each.... her first choice.. and her second choice... .. . |

When the waiter comes up and asks us what we want to drink, wants to take our order....I always look to my date and ask her is she is ready to order. It's a gesture of the old motto of "ladies first" that I believe in. I like for her to be seated first (at a table). Now, as far as ordering for her goes? Well, I have never understood why guys do this. Like Sophie pointed out why have the lady tell me what to tell the waiter? Kind of makes me feel like a parrot.

Come to think of it, I think I usually order my own food on a first date. Somehow having a man order for me seems .. intimate.

I usually just ask her what she would like, Then I go cook it. Somehow it is funny...but it does happen! Someone just asked me to his house for dinner as he loves cooking....but I turned it down! |

No point in passing on what you would like to order to your companion, they never remember, or get it all wrong. I prefer ordering me own chow. No wine :-) Ditto~~~not to much of a wine drinker....would rather have a mixed drink or beer with my meal.... Only time I have let a guy order for me is if we have been dating for a while then if he wants to fine.... |
