Come to think of it, I think I usually order my own food on a first date. Somehow having a man order for me seems .. intimate. Actually I think it is setting the standard of that she is gonna by "wearing the pants in the relationship". But I may be reaching with this thought.

I always order for myself. Was out with one guy who said "You have to get this"! I told him "No I don't".
BTW ... He didn't "get" anything other than his meal

... women.. do you like it when your date orders off the menu for you..? . or do you tell your date what you are going . to have.. and then let him. inform the waitress or waiter..for you.? or do you just order yourself..? .. and the wine tasting... do you want him.. do you want him to decide.. or would you like to taste for yourself..? I would rather order for myself. I have some food allergies and I am very picky about what I put into my body as I eat very healthy. |

When the waiter comes up and asks us what we want to drink, wants to take our order....I always look to my date and ask her is she is ready to order. It's a gesture of the old motto of "ladies first" that I believe in. I like for her to be seated first (at a table). Now, as far as ordering for her goes? Well, I have never understood why guys do this. Like Sophie pointed out why have the lady tell me what to tell the waiter? Kind of makes me feel like a parrot.

Well....when he demands you get the Big Mac combo.....you go for the Happy Meal so you can get the toy. You then look at him, hold the toy up and say, "You didn't get one cause you are a meanie".

not sure OP really can't remember some of my last dates... maybe on one we went over what I liked and did not like and he may have ordered for me ... can't be sure ... but I am not into wine at dinner ... more of a mix drink I like... depending on what I have and where ... I think it is nice for you to do that ... and does show you are listening ... but if someone tells me ..what I can not have ...think where in trouble already hahahah...
