Interesting question. I doubt you will get an answer. Yep, it can't be nice when people question the ethics of your own Country, but people are quick to question the ethics of other Countries, hey Uchea |

Yep, it can't be nice when people question the ethics of your own Country, but people are quick to question the ethics of other Countries, hey Uchea I don't get what you mean. But someone in University did say to me that Nigeria had beaten Ebola in the way I mentioned above. Obviously they have no proof whatsoever but I thought it was interesting. Do you have any thoughts on the subject. |

On the CBS News the other night, the question was raised 'Rather than spend untold $$$ on keeping Ebola patients alive, why not let them die so they cannot infect anyone else?'
I was appalled. '..No man is an island, Entire of itself. Each is a piece of the continent, A part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less. As well as if a promontory were. As well as if a manor of thine own Or of thine friend's were. Each man's death diminishes me, For I am involved in mankind. Therefore, send not to know For whom the bell tolls, It tolls for thee..' -from Meditation 17 by John Donne |

Y'all are makin' me want to quote Voltaire. Don't please, there are certain people on this thread who do not like the French You mean those "cheese eating surrender monkeys!"- can I quote Groundskeeper Willie? During the marriage of prince William a couple of years ago the question was asked, why did he wear that red army officers jacket? Hundreds of years ago Britain and France were at war. The French captured a British army officer and took him for questioning. Near the end of the questions the French general asked the British officer one more thing, he said, why do you british Officers wear red jackets, don't you know it makes you easier targets to shoot at. In his casual way the British Officer answered, we wear red because if we are shot, the blood won't show and therefore the men we are leading won't panick. And that is why, from that day forward, all french army officers wear brown trousers. |

Yet during the American Revolution had not the "cheese eating surrender monkeys" given assistance ...... the Union Jack would have flown on American soil for a lot longer. The French gave armaments, troops and cash and prevented reinforcements from reaching Cornwallis thus forcing him to surrender.
"During the Revolution, France sent an estimated 12,000 soldiers and 32,000 sailors to the American war effort, the most famous of whom was the Marquis of Lafayette. He became a good friend (ami) with American commander in chief George Washington in the process. " From http://www.americaslibrary.gov/jb/revolut/jb_revolut_francoam_1.html As for the OP may never know exactly how Nigeria prevented further infection. The point is .... it is stopped. No further infections will come from there. Worse things have happened in the name of medicine leading to methods and treatments still in use today. |
