Step 1:* We identify the 'operators': minus (-) multiplication () addition (+) division (/) (not '\' @ Uche) Step 2:* We 'focus' upon the 'precedence/priority' of operators: (highest to lowest): / * + - Step 3: Now we proceed as follows: 6-10+2/2 = 6 - 1 0 + (2/2) = 6 - 1 * 0 + 1 = 6 - (1 * 0) + 1 = 6 - 0 + 1 = 6 - (0 + 1) = 6 - 1 = 5 Therefore, result of above given mathematical expression = 5 The important factor is that you understood I meant division, whether "\" or "/" could be typo error. For some reasons like this your own formula now I am delaying posting my own working. Until then, lets have as many contributions as possible. Thanks!! Uche, that was a dirty trick. In the mathematical order, the addition happens before the subtraction so you are correct. Attention to detail. Ya. Sometimes we allow divergent of views and thoughts for a purpose. I heard the temple of Solomon has been rebuilt and sacrifices of sheep and other animals will soon start as it was many years ago. Ohhhh, who will take me to Israel. Pansytilly ooooh, dont just show me pictures and tell me stories,take me to the country of my savior plssssssss!!!!! I doubt animal sacrifice will do any good...but...you do live in closer proximity than i....start trekking... Eehhh? 7 1*0 = 0 2\2 = 1 So 6-0+1 = 7 Multiply and divide before you add and subtract. NorCalSwe. hmmmmmmm
