No Leigh, I'm not perfect and I'm just saying that I've been through it with a menapausal woman and I don't regret it and it was just something that was right for both of us at the time but it didn't have a future. You've got to understand that my thinking has been coloured by that experience. I'm certainly not saying that I didn't make mistakes in that relationship and where I'm at at the moment is just a personal thing and there are other factors that effect my preferences, including what I would be bringing to the table and again, you've got to understand that I'm looking for something that will work and somebody that's right for me and for me to be right for somebody this time.
Not sure what you mean by putting my foot in it Crystal but yes, I am a scorpio and in fairly good shape physically, considering that I smoke and drink. I'm not saying that I'm not concerned about my hormone levels and all of that though and I've started doing yoga again because it helps with that, among other things. To that extent, I suppose that it's something that I didn't worry about at all when I was younger but like I said, the tallywacker is still working properly and will continue to do so, touch wood. Pardon the expression... |

Touching wood helps keep it working, no? |

Menapause... Men.. Pause... and let her breathe
Hot flashes will come and go, Mood swings will kick in, Ups and downs will fill her soul, Just know this too will pass. This is a moment (a long) one, of which This women will discover her inner beauty, And as she blooms into a new beauty, Bask in knowing that she is a free spirit, Sexually, mentally and physically. |

Surely you know I was teasing you Tawt ...Obviously, you're not perfect ..We all tend to speak from past experience and that's fine, but one thing you can bank on is, as a man, you will never be more informed about this subject than women...That includes peri and post menopausal women...If you had (or are having) negative experiences with women who are going through menopause, consider this...Healthy lifestyle is the MOST effective way to ensure a smooth transition...You often mention having a propensity for living in the fast lane...One that includes heavy drinking and recreational drug use...We often end up with people who share the same interests...Maybe there are some specific reasons why your woman had a hard transition...A balanced diet, 7 to 8 hours sleep every night, daily exercise (especially cardio), limiting alcohol and caffeine consumption, and a solid support system all contribute greatly to easing the hormonal changes women experience during menopause...You, as her significant other at the time, had a certain responsibility in that process...I hate to say it, but sounds as if you may have failed the test my friend... |

Leigh, it's a long story but the lady had arthritis and she was doing what she could to take care of her health. The pain effected her moods and it wasn't just menapause making her moody. And yeah, she would get weird on me when she was stoned. She was going through her change and she also happened to have a thirteen year old daughter and that's what I walked into. Don't get me wrong. She was a good mother and she had two jobs and so anyway, she was into the astrology, like Crystal and she met me and wanted a sexy scorpio. We had a good time together but as far as me being her "significant other" goes, she kept telling me that she didn't want to be with me and that we weren't right for each other. My last girlfriend had serious health problems but she was getting all of the medical attention and trying to eat healthy etc. All I can say to a woman is to take care of herself and it's not my job to tell her what to do. It's true that I asociate with women that are into a smoke but they aren't all deadbeats or nutcases. |

Menopause is a condition that exists in women generally in the older population of females. I theorize that long standing relationships are affected by this phenomenon. If this is the case how do we survive? I'm just saying here......bitchyness can affect a relationship too. |

Menopause is a condition that exists in women generally in the older population of females. I theorize that long standing relationships are affected by this phenomenon. If this is the case how do we survive? Best thing to do is have a healthy diet and exercise. I am in menopause and no longer have mood swings; and very rarely get hot flashes all because I changed my diet. I did this buy googling what I should and shouldn't eat/drink and keep to a healthy exercise routine. My friend is a great man as he helped his wife through menopause by doing research on how it affects her so he could help her through it but men like that are rare as diamonds. |

Yeah, like I'm going to say to a moody menapausal woman that I've been going on the internet to find out what I can tell her to do to stop being like that.

Oh and Leigh, if by "heavy drinking" you mean like a woman drinking a couple of glasses of wine, which is about all that most women can drink before they're hammered, then yeah, I've been with women that were heavy drinkers.

Yeah, like I'm going to say to a moody menapausal woman that I've been going on the internet to find out what I can tell her to do to stop being like that. that was in actual fact hilarious. it's all about timing and how you convey the message, Tawt. You should tell her what you've found online when she's vulnerable and in tears, not when she's throwing the crockery through the house! Something like: "Oh come here, my love, there there! Let's see if there's something WE can do to make you feel better, ooh ... coochy-coo! Well look at that, I just HAPPEN to find something here!" * point at monitor * "What do you think, shall we try that? I think that will make you feel a lot better!! Oh, poopoopidoo!!" (Hug her and tell her she's the most beautiful woman in the world) That might just work. I think. And if all else fails ... C4? @Leigh, love how you phrased that! So exercise ... hmmm Best get started with power-walking again then... Kinda gave up about a month ago. |

If this is the case how do we survive? that just means men go through their mid life crises sooner or later to right ? doesn't every man have one ...just as most women go through menopause... |

The heavy drinking comment was in reference to you darling ...As to getting hammered on 2 glasses of wine, then for those women that would be considered heavy drinking ... |

After reading this thread I had to laugh.. I'm not pre menopause I've done been there done that.. I choose as some women have not to take anything the doctor gave me but to let it run it's course naturally...
I did get some stuff from the Health Food Store for the Hot Flashes.. As far as the mood swings they were no different for me then they were each month. And I was one of the so call lucky ones it took 10 years for me from start to finish.. The only issues I had was the hot flashes every so often... And in no way did it decrease sexually moods I would say it increased them instead. I have to laugh when some describes the way they think most women are when going through menopause...I know some women do get really wacky but not all women do.... A lot of times what you eat and drink brings on the symptoms even worse. But for each woman it is different. What worked for me may not work for another... |

Had you observed the chinese people? even they are at the age of 60 and 70s you could still see their sweetness. I could also see that on my own society. I could say that their is nothing wrong with menopausal it depends on the 2 individual lovers to carry on their relationship. That could be talk by the both of you and you could ask for the doctors advice
