Topic: why can't we do that?

I always hear that a woman can't go up to a guy and say hi that a guy should be the one to do it or a girl can't give a guy her number the guy has to do it and i ask myself why? why can't us women be able to strike up a convo when we see someone we like? why does it have to be men that always make the first move?

I have been in the restaurant biz for 20 yrs and I have seen women make the first move before and they usually are successful.

No one ever told me and my friends we couldn't. My friends move first all the time. I don't cause I'm super shy but it has nothing to do with my gender.

Men make the first move because most women will not, some women just fear a negative response, we are in the 21st century so no need to be shy ladies, ask away, and you might just be surprised by the guy's response.

I always hear that a woman can't go up to a guy and say hi that a guy should be the one to do it or a girl can't give a guy her number the guy has to do it and i ask myself why? why can't us women be able to strike up a convo when we see someone we like? why does it have to be men that always make the first move? go for it...no one says women cannot make the first move and often subtlely we do, with a smile or a look but when it comes to moving past conversation to trading numbers or asking for a date, in my experience it works better if the guy escalates it at that point. but there's nothing wrong with it if you decide to take control of the situation. keep in mind not all guys may really like that approach (no matter what the little rascals say in here) lol
