False... attraction is the main reason and that is not always 'body' specific. Incorrect. Not always face specific either. A nice, small body is the main attraction that triggers a man to keep chasing/pursue a woman. Her intelligence and personality just aren't enough. Men are visual creatures, end of. I love how you say incorrect, to a man telling you HIS perspective, And attraction is based on culture, many people in other countries see larger women are more desirable because in their culture that signifies wealth/health. Ultimately we are animals, and our main biological need for attraction is reproduction so our bodies tell us what is 'attractive' based on whether or not we perceive that person to be able to reproduce. In Africa if you are exceptionally small, it generally signifies poor health/short life span, and therefore those women are not considered attractive to that culture, but on the other hand larger women as healthier and more viable to sustain a healthy birth. Of course all this takes place at the genetic level, and all we know is when we look at someone we see as 'attractive' Here in the states a smaller(but still healthy) signifies someone better to sustain a birth, while being overweight signifies health issues, it's all relative to where you live. |

The word I used was attraction, i chose this word because it is a better gage than assuming all men focus on just one thing, body-wise or other. |

What holds a man's attention is not non-visual in the long run of things. It's always visual. Men mostly don't salivate over a woman's brain. |

It can be many things, it can be combinations of attributes, too. The things people find attractive do not necessarily tether them to the shallow waters either. |

I valued his perspective I just woefully disagreed with it. Yes but I live in America. Let's keep things a bit on topic for now. It's also based on the full scale of genetics too. How someone looks on the outside is what a man will seek out is intertwined with the exterior. Btw, the genetics of a woman's personality and brain adequacy are passed on as well. It's part of the package of reproduction. Shame this isn't of higher regard when searching for a proper mate. So it does matter? Oh good. But I am still talking about American men here. Not of other cultures, although true, not disagreeing with these findings they are just irrelevant to the discussion. Underweight is as much a problem as is being overweight. I am trying to say that women who are of a particular size are often celebrated to men as the real face of beauty. They are sold it straight up and buy into it as the only real definition of beauty. It's often a green light for a further pursue. Her college degree and personal career path, feelings, emotions, dreams and goals don't play so highly in terms of attraction. Unless I'm wrong which I could be but this is what I know to be true thus far. |

Sure, while true, when you are pursuing a relationship, it's still very important to the point of being revered. |

I guess I don't really understand what the "arguement" here is. Are men visual? Yup. I don't think any male would deny that. But so are women. We just like to be thought of as having more depth than that. But we are. We evaluate men based on look as much as we do on the rest of the common traits.
Do SOME men stop their evaluation and consider themselves to have hit the genetic gold mind when they see a certain body type? Sure. But if you take the responses provided even just in here there's a pretty good cross section of cultural diversity and they are all saying it takes MORE to hold their attention. Sooooooo, I think that for the most part, it's a pretty safe bet that when you are looking for a relationship that will last, both men and women know you need to delve deeper and seek the substance of a potential partner. Afterall, bodies change - widely so, and most of us with a few miles behind us are aware of that fact. ...and sexy is as sexy does, not just as sexy looks. |

True or False? A woman's body (skinny/svelte/slim) is the main reason behind a man's interest? True and false. Even to the men that prefer the body types you describe it doesn't seem like that would be all they're interested in. A woman's bank account, job, family status and education are of a deeper quality of interest to them. IMO. After all, once they've tapped the source and the well is dry they can lose interest pretty quickly no matter how svelte she is. But then again, it could all depend on the situation. If they're just looking for a piece of arm candy, maybe even a little party time, then that specific body type will fit the bill nicely too. |

i was taken to a place, the hall of the mountain kings..
i stood high upon a mountain top, naked to the world... in front of every kind of girl... there was long ones, tall ones, short ones, brown ones, black ones, round ones, big ones, crazy ones.. out of the middle, came a lady... she whispered in my ear something crazy.........she said.. spill the wine, take that pearl... spill the wine, take that pearl.... |
