SUCCESS? ...
![]() How do you measure it? Against the level of others or by your own standards? Is there anything you "won't do" to achieve it? When and how do you know that you've reached all of your goals to your satisfaction? Do you ever think you've had enough and it's time to relax and enjoy the life you've already worked hard to build? Or is the innate fight to climb and stay on top always an instigating factor that keeps you going even if you're tired of the rat race and what it takes to keep up the pace? Does obliging the need to succeed make you happy? |

That's alot of questions but I'll choose one.
Is there anything you "won't do" to achieve it?
I'd rather fail doing my own thing, doing what I wanna do than doing what someone else wants me to do and succeeding. |

I'd rather fail doing my own thing, doing what I wanna do than doing what someone else wants me to do and succeeding. I won't sleep with anyone to achieve it and I won't use connections of people who can open doors. Then it wouldn't be true success and I would wonder if I really measure up |

And doing what someone else wants you to do doesn't mean you will succeed either, or does it? Yeah, I know, more questions... ![]() |

Of course I have my own 'dards.
![]() "If it doesn't leave a mark, you're not doing it right!" - Anonymous My definitions are quite different. My views forged though many experiences, some good, some bad. My perspective has changed over the years, and what I consider "success" now is vastly different from what I conceived in my 20's or 30's. It's not until your values are truly challenged that you will realize what is truly important to you. Yes, I've done things I'm not proud of, nor would ever do again. It was part of the learning/growing process. Part of creating the person who typed this today. Learning more from the failures than from the perceived 'successes'. This allowed evolution and adaptation. A cycle of growth and recession. I stopped racing when nobody could tell me where the finish line was/is, until I realized it was the dirt nap that was the end. The ultimate finality. I realized that it really is the journey, not the destination that matters and those who choose to share the path with you along the way. I'mma gonna stop now, since I'm starting to sound too much like a cheap fortune cookie in the rundown part of Chinatown. |

Then it wouldn't be true success and I would wonder if I really measure up I agree... taking the e-a-s-y way has never been appealing to me either. And an honest day's work that earns a good night's sleep is way more important then measuring up to others expectations. ![]() |

Does obliging the need to succeed make you happy? I measure it mostly by my own happiness in life. I won't do things that don't feel good in order to achieve success. I will know when peace and tranquility have replaced this 'calling' and craving in my heart and soul that urge me forward. I try to enjoy life each and every day. And once I find what it is that I want to do, I don't think I will ever get tired, as it is my heart's desire! I don't do rat races, I hate those. I'm talking about my soul's purpose and goal in this life. I don't give a toss about the rest. I don't do career BS, not into that type of success. There are more important things in life ![]() |

SUCCESS? ... ![]() How do you measure it? Against the level of others or by your own standards? By my own standards. I've always done my own thing. And feel no need to compete. Though, if competing for something I really want, I'm not one to give up easily. I go full-throttle for what I want. Is there anything you "won't do" to achieve it? Yes. Sex, or drugs, or anything that requires me to cause harm to myself, or the people close to me. No dangerous situations. I'd just end up feeling degraded and cheap. And then end up punishing myself for being so stupid. When and how do you know that you've reached all of your goals to your satisfaction? Because I'll feel like I've achieved everything on my bucket list. Do you ever think you've had enough and it's time to relax and enjoy the life you've already worked hard to build? Or is the innate fight to climb and stay on top always an instigating factor that keeps you going even if you're tired of the rat race and what it takes to keep up the pace? I don't think I want to give up and drop everything just yet. It would take a very big blow to my body, to stop me doing stuff. If I had quite a major illness though, I'd know my limits, and would know that I could only do so much. Does obliging the need to succeed make you happy? No. I can be happy without success. To me, love and life is more important. |

Accomplishing the mission has been the sole standard of success for a long time. Maybe I should move some of my priorities

I have spent my lifetime. building a company and a name. that stands for something.. I have boys. Who may wish to follow in my footsteps.. I will blaze the trail. . making it slightly easier for them.. . so I am generational.. there is no TOP... . AND YES.. |
