Topic: WHY USA IS AFRAID OF CHINA & SAUDI BUT BULLIES NIG | |
---|---|
My tribe has a saying-popularised by the acclaimed novelist,Chinua Achebe-that he who brings home ant-infested faggots shouldnt complain if he is visited by lizards. That proverb is apt in describing the type of treatment nigeria recieves from western world, led by the USA.Since president Jonathan signed the anti-gay bill into law,the west has not allowed us to drink water and drop the cup as the saying goes.presidential visits have been allegedly cancelled;threats of cancellation of aids have been issued;patronising & condescending comments have been directed at us.Compare this to the treatment the west metes out to two other countries;China&Saudi.China is the largest non-democracy in the world.china doles out the death penalty for corruption & drug trafficking.china regulary arrests & detain those who speak against dictatorial policies.china cencors what its citizens can see on the web.china restricts the number of children a chinese couple can have. Uhhh ... If you check you will see that it is China that is getting Afghanistan's resources. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mining_in_Afghanistan http://www.brookings.edu/research/papers/2013/02/21-china-afghanistan-downs And of course. Indeed, China is the first-mover in the Afghan resource space, having won the massive copper concession at Aynak in Logan Province — with routes to the mining project patrolled up by US and British troops — and China oil giant CNPC pumping the first Afghan crude under a 25-year contract, concluded in late 2011. Most recently, Chinese President Xi Jing Ping declared 2014 a “key year” for Afghan-Chinese relations, and when Xi met with Afghan President Hamid Karzai, the Afghan leader’s two advisors were the Minister of National Security and the Minister of Mines and Petroleum. One headline neatly captures the symbiotic relationship: “Afghanistan Has What China Wants” http://stratrisks.com/geostrat/16028 China has been signing contracts all over Africa and the Middle East for resources. Has been for some time now. But what about: "Afghanistan's significance from an energy standpoint stems from its geographical position as a potential transit route for oil and natural gas exports from Central Asia to the Arabian Sea. This potential includes the construction of the Trans-Afghanistan Pipeline gas pipeline." Wouldn't have anything at all to do with the initial invasion, would it? |

What does business have to do with reproductive rights of another country? Obviously the people don't really care, they keep buying that trash or would it be that you are insinuating that we should start another war because another country won't let us mettle in their internal issues? And now they are overpopulated, so what need are in inferring, perhaps they could help destroy Syria's weapons of mass destruction, lower the Chinese population, rid the world of nasty weapons and then the Chinese people can be free to have as many children as they want. A whole plethora of problems solved in one fail swoop. And what need does a continent predominate with HIV need? More condoms? And what is a more important freedom, freedom is freedom. And by being adult are you referring to being past the age of puberty or able to produce offspring, natures definition or adult or do we apply some man-made law? And what does that have to do with sleeping with something? And what about the Olympics? When in Rome, do as the Romans do or is it that we should start another war because someone thinks different than us? |

The obscenity is further exacerbated by the fact that, according to US Civil Engineers, the US needs around $2.2 trillion to bring its public infrastructure up to the likes of Hong kong,UK,Singapore and Mainland China.Yet they spend more than China and Russia combined on national security albeit, indebted neckdeep to China in trillions

China is going to go down in a similar way to the Soviet Union.
Abject poverty amongst the people, living large amongst the party elite. China had the highest number of college graduates in their history during 2013 and only 35% of them found a job. The average family income for 2013 is $2,100. The government run industries are rife with inefficiency and corruption is rampant. They are spending massive amounts of money on a military buildup. They are the worlds largest polluter. Their CO2 emissions are almost twice as much as ours. They are stealing intellectual property and reverse engineering everything from jets to solar panels. At some point... The people are going to revolt in a way that brings down the communist regime. Without that.. and the slave wages they pay to their people.. China will be just another competitor on equal footing and hardly worth noting.. |

But yes I understood the implications much better than the actual poster. And as to HIV in China, you haven't a clue.... The price of blood: China faces HIV/AIDS epidemic "In 1998, Li became the governor of Henan, one of the most populous provinces in China, which was also one of the areas most devastated by HIV/AIDS. During his stint, there were criticisms related to an HIV/AIDS outbreak linked to local blood banks. State-run media attributed the disease's spread to "illegal blood sales and contaminated blood transfusions." The central government began tightening controls over the business in the mid-1990s once more was known about HIV and how the virus is spread." Moral of the story: applying one's own morality to others does not necessarily address the issue. |

The massive budget for the military and "peace keeping operations",plus "international security assistance" also "weapons and trainings" washington offers foreign militaries around the world staggers around $trillion while China is busy consolidating their status as the asian tiger, nay, world tiger.Self appointed world 'police' indeed http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-07-29/china-is-set-to-suffer-the-skyscraper-curse.html >snip Asian Crisis In the late 1990s, Kuala Lumpur’s Petronas Towers opened at the height of the Asian crisis. A decade later, Dubai’s economy hit a wall right on cue as the 828-meter Burj Khalifa was getting its Guinness World Records mention. Skyscrapers are akin to giant punctuation marks made of steel, glass and concrete, screaming, “Check us out!” More than technological progress, they usually reflect hubris. Exaggerated pride and easy credit -- terrible bedfellows in the best of times -- fuel irrational growth and valuations; they drive developing nations toward overreach. This is precisely where China finds itself in 2013 as the economy’s excesses spark fears about financial turmoil, debt defaults and social instability. China will have to be very lucky to avoid the skyscraper curse. The Changsha project is a particularly interesting metaphor for China’s economy. The blistering pace at which the building will go up -- more than two stories a day -- raises serious concerns. Broad Group’s claim to fame is prefabricated steel and concrete modules that supposedly make construction cheaper and more ecologically friendly. Last year, it put up a 30-story hotel in just 15 days. Yet how well can a 202-story building that is essentially a giant Lego set withstand earthquakes, extreme wind or fire? China, too, has grown with seemingly impossible rapidity. But fast and cheap growth doesn’t mean China has created a stable, efficient or diverse economy. That has become especially apparent since 2008, when Beijing nimbly steered around the global crisis. It only did so by doubling down on credit excesses that it’s now having trouble controlling -- including asset bubbles and the surge in local-government debt. China’s impatience in building its economy, for example, has left little time for developing indigenous corporate brands. Instead, the state is more interested in buying established overseas businesses and demanding technology transfers as the price of access to the Chinese market. The trouble with skipping some of the development steps is that occasionally one trips.<snip another Colossus on Clay-Feet! |

China is getting resources, they are doing business. We are engaging in war. Big difference. Both the Afghans and the Chinese have interests in a co-operative allience. Afterall, Afghanastan border is shared with China. America has been there ten years killing, China has not. Sort of makes you wonder just whom is the capitalist nation, doesn't it? |
