Here are the sources of the crude oil that is used in the USA.

As I see it, the USA is aiding Nigeria by purchasing crude oil from the latter.

From the Wikipedia article "Corruption in Nigeria":

Petty corruption is reportedly widespread and surveys indicate that it is very hard to do business in Nigeria without having to pay facilitation payments to public officials. Companies should note that property rights, contracts and commercials disputes can be difficult to enforce and settle in Nigerian courts due to corruption, inefficiency and under-staffing. Tax administration lacks transparency that has led either to high levels of tax evasion or tax officials demanding bribes in return for lower tax rates. The police are perceived to be one of the most corrupt institutions in Nigeria, and X Squad, the disciplinary body responsible for investigating corruption inside the police is reportedly corrupt themselves as well.

(Round numbers) If we buy one million barrels of oil a day from Nigeria at $100 per barrel, that is $100,000,000 a DAY in money to do something.

Where is the money going?

Very good question! The rotten and morally depraved corrupt politicians should provide the answer.

Some of these numbers don't add up.

The US consumed about 18 million barrels of oil a day last year.

If the chart above is correct that would add up to about 1.2 million barrels of oil a day.

The US imported 33,000,000 barrels of oil in 2010 from Nigeria and it has dropped rapidly after that. The total divided by days only results in 90,000 barrels per day. (from dept of energy)

The amount accruing to them is enormous and staggers the mind if properly calculated

Perhaps if Nigerians knew how to govern their own country there wouldn't be rampant poverty and mass murder in Nigeria.

People need villains to blame, the bankers are quick to provide them
