Topic: Some "New users near you" aren't - why? | |
---|---|
I'm in Ohio. Today's "New users near you" email included someone in Alaska. How did that happen?
I've also gotten a list that included someone in TX when my search specified a 25-mile radius. Finally, I've been "blown a kiss" by someone in FL. I realize that has nothing necessarily to do with the first 2 mysteries I've mentioned, but I'm wondering what I should make of that. |

Welcome, dpmingle. "That New users near you" email could be a bug and I'll do some testing and document it, if I can verify it. If you can note the user name of the Texas lady who appeared in your Search (if it happens again), please mail it to me. She could have an incorrect setting somewhere.
In any event, sounds like you may want to use your M2 mail filters. They can be turned on from the following page ,and only on the full site: http://mingle2.com/inbox/filters |

Thanks for your reply, and for pointing out the email filters. Are those filter settings reflected in the restrictions that are shown toward the bottom of some members' listings?
I've emailed you the link for the woman in TX. Unfortunately, the "New users" etc. Mingle email that included someone in Alaska has been deleted from my webmail. If something like that happens again, I'll save and forward it. |

The distance thing happens to me all the time. Ithought it was just because I live in Mexico and Mingle doesn't know where Mexican cities are. I specified 50 miles and get possibe matcxhes from both the Northern and Southern borders both of which are ove 500miles away. Little far to commute
