Ever wondered if you could just wake up one morning abandon your life and travel out to some place where no one knows you and start up a new life, can u relate? Every Melmacian who is still alive has had to do that. It is a necessity when your home planet blows up. |

Yeah, had that the other day. Had to go somewhere, went to my car, thought to myself "What if I just get in and leave?"
I felt very compelled to do so. But with what little money I have in my bank account I'd probably strand near the French border. I don't like the French much. The other option is to drive east, which would get me to Germany. Not my cup of tea either, so I decided I'd better stay home. @ Jacktrades, It's not per say an escapism. If that's the reason, one better stay home and sort out one's hangups. |

Ever wondered if you could just wake up one morning abandon your life and travel out to some place where no one knows you and start up a new life, can u relate? Been there, done that; several times. It isn't so hard, either. It's a huge planet... |

Ever wondered if you could just wake up one morning abandon your life and travel out to some place where no one knows you and start up a new life, can u relate? Nope, I don't wonder about it anymore. Did it two years ago. Abandoned everyone I knew and headed 1500 miles south all by my lonesome for some fun in the sun in Florida. I spend 20 years being Mom, and I wanted a chance to be just me again. Don't exactly see it as starting a 'new life' though. It's just a new chapter in this same 'ole life I already have! |

I did it last year and have never regretted it!
I mingled here and found a wonderful woman....took a shot and flew out to meet her. She was everything I dreamed and more. I thought about it and decided to go for it. Kissed my family goodbye...partied with my friends one last time...loaded up my dog,my clothes,my car and my bank account....and drove for 5 days to the beach in Oregon. I was young enough to do it...But,old enough not to be stupid about it. Easily found a good job upon arrival...the rest is history. Now....I wake everyday to my beautiful loving woman....I walk my dog on the beach...I work with nice people in a slow paced and relaxed beach town. Change can be good if you let it. I regret nothing. :) |

WOW! You are one lucky guy!! krupa
My life is nothing but hurtles. They make me stronger but I really do get tired of starting over after a failed relationship. My last relationship, I packed my stuff and started over with her and got married. But deep down inside of her she was still the bar fly and stripper mentality type which is a bad mix. I wish you the best of luck! Also Thanks for sharing! |

But it does end...it seems like nothing will change...but it can if you can keep an open mind and put the past behind. It ain't easy ...it can be done. Just remember you cant change the past...you can take a chance to get some happiness in the future. The only one who controls your fate is you. Take your chances. :) Ya got one life....MAKE it a good one! |

Only as a teen. lol. I'm satisfied where I am. Anyway it would mean leaving friends and family and pets behind. I'd feel awful if say my gran died, and I was too far to attend her funeral. Wewll you wanna be near family most, when that kind of things occurs. I'd never be 100% sure of it. Unless you mean just a getaway type of thing.

Thanks Crystal!
I just think that my good mingletards need to know that there is hope for us all. I ain't special....I mingle...I rolled the dice...I took a chance. I know very well all of us have been through the wringer and none of us want to hurt anymore. The thing is...being safe...is safe...but really limits the opportunities that are around us everyday. Chances are scary....like fear of the unknown. The long and short of it....if you don't take a chance...don't expect to get lucky. |

It wasn't a escape for me it was a chance to see, do, and experience new things. It was great and I settled down here in the warm weather with the beautiful ocean.I was just pointing out there are no mythical lands where you don't encounter problems. No worries life is good! |

True words and yes, great to hear that it indeed can simply happen :) But don't underestimate the fact that you are a very wise person. Not gonna elaborate on that, I'm gonna assume you understand what I mean, wisdom, inner strength --> finding the right partner etc. Anyways, if you have a twin brother, give him my phone number! Oh wait, you ain't got that. Oh well ... |

I understand what you are saying, but if you run from issues here, there are bigger issue somewhere else. my life is settling down now, just looking to find the right partner to live and love life to the fullest with. lately that's been a challenge. New to this after being married 23yrs., hope it's like riding a bike...lol
