I do, stay busy projects.
Build BBQue grills, wood burning heaters and utility trailers. Writing this will sort of, bind me to a commitment to finish one. I bought a trashed out travel trailer. The only thing worth using is the frame and axles. My plan. To build a light weight mini home on it. The frame is 18'. I'm looking to make it 14' and have a screened porch on the back. What projects do y'all do? |

My actual hobbies are making jewellery with beads & chainmaille, which is my favourite. Also a bit of tapestry

That chainmaille looks like it would be tedious and take a very long time to make.
I've done a little jewelry and some beading small bottles using seed beads. |

I find the chainmaille soothing. It looks daunting at 1st but it's a repeat pattern & an easier weave can only take 2 hours to do. I started bead weaving over 30 years ago when it wasn't popular so I had to go to a popular hippy

Sorry I hadn't finished what I was putting because I'm doing it on my mobile & I caught the reply! Any way I had to buy strings of love beads to get what I wanted because we just didn't have a proper supplier but I was happy doing it.

I had to look to see where you was from.
When I was doing the most of my bead work, I was in the Seattle area. They had a couple great shops in the U District and at the Farmers Market. Tacoma, Washington has 2. If you can, sometime, post pictures of your work. Would love to see it. |

I'm in the Uk. I'll hunt out my bracelets tomorrow, they're still packed away after my move but I will put them up.

Cool. Be looking forward to it.

I've got them on my profile but couldn't find out how to get them on here. The 1st 2 photo's are the bead woven pieces & the others are chainmaille.

Beautiful work.
I like how you was able to do the v. You did that free hand order on a loom? The chainmail is awesome! |
|
|
|
Thank you :-D. I did them on a standard loom. I can't make them any more because I can't hold the needles now, they are like sharp hairs! I have seen some incredible newer bead work which I would loved to have tried but games won't let me. The maille is easier to do for me & I really enjoy doing it.

I do beading on a loom, also beadweaving..Your jewelry is lovely.. I love the black multi color necklace, did you design this this or do you have a pattern? Maybe we could share some patterns as I have a couple of notebooks full of patterns..I also made jewelry for a long time, all styles and lots of different beads, gemstones and crystals.. I'll try to post some of my things...I sold a turquoise necklace (chunky turquoise beads)and matching earrings for $300.00..Lady didn't even blink an eye...lol
